We are really excited to announce for one more year our wildlife photo-tour to Spain to photograph the mysterious and elusive Iberian Lynx.

Join us on this fabulous Iberian Lynx photo-tour to encounter one of the rarest wild cats in the world.

The Iberian Lynx reflects a conservation success in Spain. In 2001 there were only 62 mature individuals left in the wild and by 2022 that number had risen to 648. Today, the total population, including both Spain and Portugal, and including young and mature individuals, is estimated to exceed more than 2000. All this thanks to the project Life Lynxconnect. The Iberian Lynx was listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List from 2014 through 2024 and in 2024 it was reclassified to Vulnerable.

Our 5 day Iberian Lynx tour will take place in March 2027, when usually the temperature is not high, allowing to the animals to be outside in the field all day long.

The first day we will rendezvous at Madrid airport from where we will drive to our base in Andalusia, almost 3,5 hours away.

The three next days early in the morning and in the afternoon we visit the photo-hide where we wait for the arrival of the Lynx. Also other species can be seen in the hide area, like Wild Rabbits, Griffon Vultures, Spanish Imperial Eagles and other smaller sized birds.

200-600 mm lenses are best here as sometimes the Lynx can be very close, and sometimes they can be at a further distance. Silence in the hide is absolutely key so as not to scare the animals. The hide we will be in is the only one place that we can photograph a Lynx before the dawn and after dusk and the good news is that given that we will spend so many hours there, that we also have toilet facilities in the hide.!

On the last day we drive back to Madrid airport.

We have to underline that as we all know, no one has an appointment with wildlife, so we cannot guarantee that the animals will visit the photo-hide area.

Arrivals - meet at Madridi Airport T1 & transfer to hotel about 3.5hrs away.
