A lifelong passion for dance and movement led Emmie into a yoga class after moving to New York in 2011. She immediately developed a love for both the physical and mental benefits that a daily yoga practice offered. With a desire to deepen her own practice and explore the world of teaching, Emmie entered in to her first training at Yoga to the People in New York City in 2015. She earned her 200hr RYT and began her apprenticeship thereafter. She has since then received certifications in traditional hot sequencing, Yin, and Prenatal yoga. Emmie has taught at over 10 studios in New York City including Sweat Yoga in Tribeca for over two years. With over 3 years of teaching experience and over 2000+ hours of leading group classes, private sessions, and trainings under her belt, she has now moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her career on the West Coast. Emmie’s classes are upbeat, explorative, and challenging and encourage students to cultivate an awareness of mind, body, and breath. She invites students to experiment with new shapes and intuitive movement while maintaining an attention to detail and alignment. Emmie believes in creating a learning environment that is accessible for all and strives to empower each and every student along the way.
Holly was born in Philadelphia and calls Brooklyn home. She has been in love with movement from her early days on roller skates to professional dancing with the Martha Graham Dance Company to teaching Yoga full time for 9 years. Holly teaches with just the right touch of love, levity, spirituality and Philly sass. She is inspired by the world around and the world within. Her creative, alignment-based, and themed sequences can revolve around myriad points of inspiration from a painting in the Guggenheim to an ancient yogic text. Holly empowers her students to love the body they live in one breath at a time and to always trust their own inner teacher.
The initial deposit is non-refundable.
In the event you have to cancel, regardless of the circumstances, the following rules apply:
Cancellation less then 30 days before the retreat: You are responsible for the entire cost of the retreat and will be charged in full for the same. No amounts previously paid to Sohum will be refunded to you.
Cancellation more than 30 days before the retreat: You will lose your initial deposit, but all other amounts previously paid to Sohum will be refunded to you in full and you will not be responsible for any additional payments.
Sohum reserves the right to cancel the Yoga retreat for any or no reason, at its sole discretion. In the unlikely event of cancellation we will refund 100% of the money received by Sohum from each client within 15 working days of notifying you in writing (by email) of the cancellation.
Please note that we are not responsible for any costs, expenses or damages, either direct, indirect or consequential, incurred as a result of a trip cancellation for any reason. This includes without limitation preparation costs, visa costs, airline tickets, costs associated with travel documents, vaccination charges, gear purchases, airport and airline taxes or any other expenses.
Trip insurance is highly recommended in case something happens which prevents you from attending. Individuals are sometimes unable to participate due to injuries, bad weather, flight cancellations, airport closures, passport/visa issues, etc.
You will not be refunded for any portion of the retreat cost if you do not show up and do not cancel in a timely manner. As such, trip insurance is very important.
The strict cancellation policy stems from the fact that these are small group retreats based on participation, which cannot be held without a certain number of committed participants. As such, while we understand that the unexpected does occur, we ask that you are fully committed prior to booking with us.
We look forward to taking you on our journey.
