A very rewarding excursion both at a panoramic level and for the beauty of the path is the tour that leads to the Passo San Nicolò refuge. The hike is not particularly demanding, but please do not underestimate the extension of the route.

Admire views of the most beautiful peaks of the Val di Fassa, including the south-west face of the Marmolada where the Contrin refuge, the Monzoni, and the valleys of San Nicolò and Contrin are located.

Depart from Canazei and take the cable car to Séla Brunéch on 2,420 m (7,939 ft). The difference in altitude of this ring excursion is 900 m (2,950 ft) downhill. To do the whole ring will take you one day. Just follow the well-signed path.

This is the most classic excursion which takes you from Passo Pordoi to the Capanna Fassa refuge on top of Piz Boè, above 3000 m (9,900 ft). This area is one of the most beautiful balconies in the Dolomites.

The panorama covers all the main Dolomite groups: Antelao, Marmolada, Catinaccio, Pelmo, Sasso Lungo, Tofane, Civetta, Sorapis. The first refuge to reach is the Forcella Pordoi Refuge. It's up to you whether you want to use the cable car or go by foot. 

From there, you will move on to the Maria Refuge at an altitude of 2950 m (9,800 ft), followed by a descent to the refuge Forcella Pordoi. Lastly, you can continue to the Capanna Fassa Refuge on top of Piz Boè.

A great classic of the Dolomites is undoubtedly the tour of the Sasso Piatto, a fantastic ring excursion that offers truly unique panoramas and glimpses, immersed in the Sassolungo Dolomites, a symbol of Val Gardena. It is not a particularly demanding trek that can be done starting from the Passo Sella. You’ll be able to admire many Dolomite peaks, first of all, the impressive Marmolada.

The first refuge to reach is the Toni Demetz Refuge at 2681 m (8,795 ft). It can be reached in two ways. The first option is by taking the cable car that connects it directly to the pass, saving almost all the uphill hike. The second option is taking the path which leads to the refuge in an hour and a half uphill.

Marmolada, the highest massif in the Dolomites with 3342 m (10,960 ft), is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage since 2009. You can choose between the Malga Ciapela - Sottoguda Canyon, an easy walk for the whole family.

The itinerary (1 hour) will drive you through the breathtaking Serrai di Sottoguda, a natural canyon, 2.5 km (8,200 ft) long, between steep rock walls, 400 m (1,350 ft) high with beautiful waterfalls along the Pettorina creek, arriving in the cute village of Sottoguda.

The Malga Ciapela - Falièr Refuge (2080 m/6,800 ft), a nice hike, not too demanding, in the Marmolada group is undoubtedly the most picturesque climb to the Falièr refuge. The starting point is Malga Ciapela. This evocative and panoramic itinerary crosses the Val Ombretta, with fantastic views of the South-western wall of the Queen of the Dolomites.

Today you have a full day at your disposal. Use the time to relax in your apartment or take a drive through picturesque alpine villages with small houses, flower-bedecked balconies, and beautiful gardens.

Try a typical Trentino "Marende", an afternoon meal, in one of the rustic inns. Indulge in smoked alpine baconwith South Tyrolean brittle bread and a glass of red wine.

Due to its picturesque location in the heart of the Dolomites, Selva Val Gardena, at the foot of the Sella massif, is a favorite mountain holiday destination. Even families with children will find plenty of opportunities to stay active and spend their holidays taking in the fresh mountain air. A small climbing crag is a perfect introduction to climbing for beginners.

Lately, Selva Val Gardena has become a favorite starting point for fearless mountain bikers wanting to whiz down the mountains and face steep climbs. It is also famous for the Selva Val Gardena castle ruins.

Visit the beautiful village with quaint churches and chapels which often house artworks by famous regional sculptors and wood-carver. 

Being the master of today's program, you can decide whether you want to still rest and relax in your apartment, stroll through the streets of Canazei or take on the scenic drive to Cortina D'Ampezzo early, where you check into your next apartment. 

Cortina D'Ampezzo is known for the imposing mountains that surround it, Tofane, Cristallo, Faloria, Cinque Torri, Becco del Mezzodì, Sorapis, and Croda da Lago being just some of them, for the countless trekking and hiking trails, the wonderful vie ferrate, and free-climbing walls.

Climb from the Dibona Refuge up to the Giussani Refuge, located in the Forcella Fontananegra between Tofana di Rozes and Tofana di Mezzo. Then proceed between the stones of the Masarè up to the Val Travenanzes.

Continue downhill along this beautiful and uncontaminated valley to Ponte Alto and from there to Pian de Loa until you reach the main entrance of the Parco delle Dolomiti Ampezzane.

The highest peaks of the Cristallo massif are Monte Cristallo (3221 m/10,570 ft), Piz Popena (3153 m/10,345 ft), Cima di Mezzo (3154 m/10,340 ft), and Cristallino D'Ampezzo (3008 m/9,870 ft). All require climbing skills.

The departure point for this trekking trip is the Rio Gere Refuge, then to the Son Forca Refuge by cable car. From there, continue towards Passo Tre Croci to reach Malga Larieto, and then on to Rio Gere.

The route allows you to walk at the foot of Monte Cristallo experiencing the places that inspired the legend of the shepherd of Monte Cristallo. The beauty of the scenarios will be a long-lasting memory.

The Fraina Refuge lies in a sheltered sunny trough with a wonderful panorama. It is centrally located on the mountain Piz La Ila and surrounded by flowering meadows. 

The round trip starts and ends at the Fraina Refuge. From here, it will lead downhill towards the village of Zuel, then across the main road and proceeding in the direction of Cortina D'Ampezzo center. When you arrive at Cojana, the road leads back to the Fraina Refuge.

This hike takes you past places nestling at the foot of the mountains where the god, Silvanus, is said to live on silver filigree threads, among legendary figures that include a painter, a brave hunter, a wicked witch, and a black vulture

This magical hiking tour starts in Cortina D’Ampezzo then goes to Son dei Prade, just above Pocol and continues to the Dibona Refuge.

This excursion in the Costeana Valley is in the presence of the dolomite cathedrals, near the waters, which are said to be inhabited by the Undines, on top of a pleasant tree-covered hill, where the Salvàns, creatures of the forest of Lamarida, prepared a magical wedding gift for the beautiful queen Merisana. Return on the same route.

The Tre Cime di Lavaredo is one of the Dolomites’ most iconic hikes. The entire hiking loop is mostly flat, therefore, it is a relatively easy hike and great for kids. From Cortina D’Ampezzo (1224 m/4,000 ft), you reach Misurina (1754 m/5,750 ft), the "Pearl of the Dolomites", world-famous for its unique microclimate and healthy air. 

Lake Misurina is mirroring the south-east slopes of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Cristallo massif. Continue to the Auronzo Refuge (2320 m/7,610 ft), and Lavaredo Refuge (2344 m/7,690 ft), and via Forcella di Lavaredo (2454 m/8,050 ft) to Locatelli (2438 m/8,000 ft) and Lange Refuge (2232 m/7,614 ft). 

The three impressive peaks are called Cima Grande (2999 m/9,840 ft), Cima Occidentale (2973 m/9,754 ft), and Cima Piccola (2857 m/9,374 ft).

In summer, Lake Braies, the largest natural lake in the Dolomites, reflects all shades from green to blue. It is one of the deepest natural lakes in the Dolomites, and the most beautiful. The mountain lake is in the North of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. The origin of the lake is attributed to a mud-flow.

According to legends, it had access to the subterranean reign of the Fanes. The lake offers an extended walk along the lakeshore, suitable for children and adults, and several hiking tours start from the lake.

An unforgettable experience is to hire one of the typical wooden rowing boats. Or, dare to jump into the clean, refreshing waters. Don't miss a visit to the small church, a backdrop for an Italian TV series where some 70 episodes were filmed.
