Hello everyone! Is Iceland on your bucket list? That would not surprise me as it is for many! After visiting it back in 2022 I knew I wanted to return and bring others with me to enjoy the most amazing views, adventure, food, drink and people!
On 8/12/26 there will be a FULL TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE off of the western coast of Iceland. We will be there for the week prior enjoying all that Iceland has to offer, finishing up with the Solar Eclipse.
Iceland, as you will learn, has few people , and few places to stay ..... so it is very important that I begin to plan this trip out now.
I highly recommend you purchase travel insurance. I am having to do a deposit hold for the ENTIRE group of 40, so if you are interested, I will need $1,000 per person at the time of sign up.
If you know anyone who may be interested, please pass the along to them!
This trip is $4,000 per person and I have tried to add a lot of personal touches for you!
Iceland is expensive, many of you have likely heard that. It is, but it is worth every penny and when you see it and explore the small towns, you will wonder why it is not even more! :)
Jen will lead this trip if you have any questions!
for items that are included for everyone, tips will be covered. such as: Golden Circle tour. , our bus driver
10% is considered plenty!
outside of what will not be covered in the base price

Start the day by exploring Þingvellir National Park. At Þingvellir the location where the Icelandic Parliament was founded.
After the stop at Þingvellir we drive to Gullfoss Waterfall.
Gullfoss waterfall is beautiful where the river falls down in few steps. It is necessary to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall is it can not be seen from the road. When we have viewed the waterfall we drive to the location where water is pushed from the ground and into the air, Geysir Geothermal area. At Geysir we walk from the parking lot over to the geothermal area and see both small and big geysers. It is also recommended to have lunch stop here. After Geysir we drive to Friðheimar Tomato farm where we see and learn how Icelanders use their geothermal energy to be as sustainable as they possibly can. At Friðheimar we also learn about and get to know the beautiful Icelandic horse.
From Friðheimar we drive to our accommodation in the South. (Friðheimar Greenhouse visit, Horse Show & tomato soup lunch included in cost) We will stay at Hotel Dyrhólaey over the next three nights.
We drive from Hotel Dyrhólaey straight to Jökulsárlón, the Glacier Lagoon, where we go on an amphibian boat tour on the lake.
Duration of the boat tour is 35 minutes. (Amphibian Boat tour included in cost) We can grab a snack at the service center at the Glacier Lagoon. When we have freshen up a bit we walk to the diamond beach, it is possible to walk under a bridge from the glacier lagoon to the beach, about 5-10 minutes walk.
When we have looked at the mesmerizing ice on the beach we drive to Skaftafell National Park. At Skaftafell we can either walk up to a waterfall called Svartifoss or Black Waterfall, approx. 2 hours, or we can walk close up to Skaftafellsjökull, crawling glacier coming from the largest glacier in Iceland
Vatnajökull.
After a bit of time outdoors we go back on the bus and drive to Hotel Dyrhólaey.
The group goes from Hotel Dyrhólaey in the morning to board the boat to Westman Islands with the bus. (Roundtrip ferry transfers for passengers, driver & bus included in cost)
In Vestmannaeyjar it is possible to the Viking Museum (not included) and Eldheimar
Museum. Viking Museum is based around the first settlers that came to the islands
approximately around the year 900.
Eldheimar Museum was established in membrance of the volcanic eruption that happenend on the main island in 1973. It is memorable to go to this museum and learn about this devastating eruption. (Eldheimar Museum visit included in
cost)
It is also possible to go on a RIB Safari boat tour (not included) and visit the Sea Life
Trust Beluga Whale Sanctuary (not included), and of course visit the puffins.
Check out from Hotel Dyrhólaey and board the bus. Drive to Vík village for Lava show
(included in cost). After the Lava Show we drive to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach and admire the wide black sand at this beach. Next we drive to Dyrhólaey, place to see the beautiful but small Atlantic Puffin. From Dyrhólaey we drive to Sólheimajökull for either quick photo stop or glacier walk (not included in cost) on Sólheimajökull. On the way back to Reykjavík we stop at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Both beautiful waterfalls that have been one of the main attractions in Iceland for many years.
When we come to Reykjavík we check in at Center Hotel Miðgarður
On this day we take full day on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. We start the day by driving from Reykjavík to a small town called Borgarnes. There we stop just to stand up and use the restroom if anybody needs and buy some light refreshments. From Borgarnes we drive to Ytri-Tunga, often called the Seal beach, as seals often lay on the beach or the rocks to rest, and also play in the ocean. Next we drive to Búðir, this is a historic place in Snæfellsnes and often good place for photos.
From Búðir we drive to Arnarstapi, there we can walk along the sea cliffs and look at oceans and natures architecture. Next stop is Djúpalónssandur. Djúpalónssandur is a beach with a long history of seafare and a lot of stories. After the stop at Djúpalónssandur we will find us a good location to witness the Solar Eclipse. When the amazing alignment of the moon and the sun is over we get back on the bus and drive to Kirkjufell mountain and Kirkjufell waterfalls. We stop at the small town of Grundarfjörður for a restroom break and after that we drive straight back to Reykjavík. Stay at Center Hotel Miðgarður overnight.
Today is check out from the hotel and transfer from Bus Stop #13 to Keflavík Airport.
Or, if you choose you can extend your day by a few by getting your own rental car and exploring a bit more on your own! JWA Travel can help with it all!
