About this trip

Laugavegur is a long-distance trail in southern Iceland. It runs from the Landmannalaugar geothermal springs to the Þórsmörk nature reserve. The wide, dramatic valley of Þórsmörk sits at the foot of Eyjafjallajökull, an active volcano. The trail leads through striking landscapes spanning gorges, glaciers and multicolored rhyolite mountains.

We will spend 2 nights in Rekjavik prior to the trek and two nights post trek. During the trek we will be staying in mountain huts and all meals will be provided. We will walk between 12 and 17km each day

No heavy packs will be carried and all our luggage will be transported between destinations.

Our guide will be a local Icelander who will provide delicious local meals each day.

This is a supported trip, meaning we will have an experienced highland drive in a 4x4 mountain truck to bring our luggage from hut-to-hut. Each guest has one luggage. Sleeping bag can be separate from the luggage bag. Both the truck and the highland buses go through rivers. The luggage can get wet. I highly recommend a strong waterproof duffel bag. Each person is responsible to carry their luggage to and from the mountain truck each day. Having luggage on wheels doesn’t really help you here.
