About this trip

Ladies, join us in Idaho for an end of summer river rendezvous on our Main Salmon River women’s rafting adventure. Let the river lead the way as you drift into wilderness. Feel the thrill of white water rafting, enjoy opportunities for wildlife viewing, sleep under the stars, and learn about women of the past and present who have made a life on the river. You will paddle in good company, unplug from the world, and connect with nature.

Join us on our Main Salmon River Women’s Rafting Adventure for a 9-day adventure that includes 6-unforgettable days rafting 80 miles of the scenic Main Salmon River. This adventure combines exciting class III+ whitewater rafting with slower opportunities to enjoy the scenery of towering granite canyons, swimming in calm clear water from the shores of sandy white sand beaches, a soak in hot springs, short shore excursions, and chances to spot wildlife like birds, bighorn sheep, eagles, and bears.

The Salmon River canyon is a remote, unique place with a lot of history, with many of the famous settlers being women. Your expert rafting guides will break up your time on the water with guided shore excursions to prehistorical sites with pictographs, and visits to homesteads to help connect you with the human story of the river, and the notable women of the Great Frontier.

The adventure begins in Boise with an overnight at an airport area hotel to allow flexible arrival times. The following morning, participants will take a 50 minute charter flight in a prop plane over Idaho’s wilderness and touch down in town of Salmon, Idaho. In Salmon, we will continue to get to know each other, meet our river guides, and explore some of the historical spots of the cute mountain town. After a night at a hotel, we will embark on an adventure on the Main Salmon River passing through the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. There will be four days of camping, and one night at a remote river lodge while rafting. The take out is in Riggins, we will overnight in McCall on day 8. On the final morning, A 2-hour group ground transfer will return participants to Boise for afternoon flights.

A rafting adventure for any woman.

Any active and healthy woman who can swim and be comfortable in and around water can join this trip. With groups of 11 or more, participants can choose their ride style from active paddler taking instructions from the guide, or to passive passengers who kick back to enjoy the sites. With groups 10 or less, the outfitter may choose to only provide oar boats in this case, participants will not paddle.  In both cases, those who want more of a challenge can learn to navigate rapids on an inflatable kayak.

The Main Salmon River is a perfect place to bring together women of all ages and backgrounds for a multi day rafting trip. Participants can be experienced rafters or newcomers who make this their introductory dip to test the waters.

The Baja Sur Mexico adventure was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would strongly recommend for anyone. The crew and guides are wonderful at what they do. They are very knowledgeable and yet have the best personalities. The chefs made delicious meals 3 times a day and the restaurants we went to were clean and great too. The entire trip we felt safe and secure. I read every review about the trip ahead of time and they are all accurate. That is why Green Edventures is a 5 star!
It was incredible! Baja is beautiful, and camping on the beach was the most amazing thing ever. The interactions with the whales, the whale sharks, the sea lions.... everything was just so cool. Green Edventures (this is my second trip) does a great job of planning and coordinating logistics, providing necessary info, and basically, they do everything to make their trips perfect. The food is always great and lots of it, the local staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and of course, Tara the owner is fantastic. Additionally, I find that these trips attract a really interesting group of smart, self-sufficient women who are a pleasure to get to know. Both trips I have gone not knowing anyone else, and at the end, you have a whole new set of friends. If you want to go places, and don't have a travel buddy, Tara's trips would be perfect for you.
thank you so much for this review, Deborah. I am very grateful. It is always a pleasure to travel with you.(tara)

I had a great time on this trip! It was exciting to have 31 dogs out on the trails! The scenery in the Wisconsin Northwoods is peaceful, calming, and beautiful. Food and accommodations were great. The cabins are very cute and well appointed - they made for a relaxing end to our busy, exciting, fun-filled days.
This trip to Yellowstone to see the winter wolves was amazing! The park in the 'dead of winter' is anything but! The outfitters were knowledgeable on all aspects - the history of the park, animal behavior, and knew the best places to be - when and where - to increase our chances of viewing the wildlife. We saw (and heard!) wolves, bison, elk, coyote, moose, whitetail deer, mule deer, pine martens, eagles, ravens, trumpeter swans, and many other birds. We had the Old Faithful geyser basin to ourselves! Accommodations and food were great. Do yourself a favor - and see Yellowstone in winter!
It was the perfect small, social-distance conscious trip! A much-needed long weekend in the woods. The food and accommodations were great. The snowshoe guide was knowledgeable and planned the perfect trails. Dogsledding was more fun than I imagined!

I just returned from the Wisconsin Women's Tour and couldn't have asked for a better trip! For me, the amount and type of activity were perfect. Who know there was so much to discover practically in my own backyard?
