Hiking the the extinct volcano Ilaló (3.188 m / 10,460 ft) is a perfect tour out of Quito for getting your acclimatization process started or just for a very enjoyable hike. The views during the climb and also from the summit are breathtaking: Quito, the Valleys, the avenue of the volcanoes and much more. During the hike we reach 2 summits: on the frist one we find "La cruz del Tingo" - a huge cross and the second one is known as the "ito". Definitely a trip of a lifetime - join us!

Technically the hike is not very difficult, nevertheless good fitness is required and some previous experience highly recommended.

Another very important point is proper acclimatization. To really enjoy the climb, we recommend at least having stayed a day in the city before climbing it.

Cancellation Conditions:

- 60 or more days prior to departure: the total amount paid will be refunded, less an administrative fee equal to 10% of the total price.

- 59 - 30 days prior to departure: a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total price shall be retained.

- 29 and less days prior to departure: the entire total price shall be forfeited.

Change Conditions:

Any change of the purchased itinerary or services asked by the client before and during the trip will depend on availability, requires mutual agreement and will be subject to cancellation penalties of existing services.

Start after breakfast, we drive to the parking area at the view point in El Tingo. Then we hike up the slopes of the extinct volcanco through typical vegetation, with great views of the avenue of the volcanos and Quito, up to the summits of ILALO (3.200 m / 10,500 ft) - time to the main summit about 2 - 3 hours. After a small rest on the summit we descend to our vehicle and continue to our accommodation.
