This trip features the highly acclaimed traveling Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. From creators of the blockbuster exhibit seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris and after a sold-out run in Toronto, the Immersive Van Gogh will be presented in the historic Ford building at Camp North End in Charlotte.
Lose yourself in 500,000 cubic feet of monumental projections animating Vincent van Gogh’s oeuvre. Wander through entrancing, moving images that highlight brushstrokes, detail, and color – truly illuminating the mind of the genius. You will be immersed in Van Gogh’s works – from his sunny landscapes and night scenes to his portraits and still life paintings.
As an added bonus, this Exhibit is being hosted in Charlotte's historic Camp North End. This historic landmark is undergoing a transformation to become Charlotte’s hub for innovation and creativity. During our visit we get to experience the vision of Camp North End through a historic tour and time to visit galleries and creative small retail and culinary businesses.
Day One:
There will be two morning departures; one in St. James Plantation and one in Leland. We arrive mid afternoon at Charlotte's Camp North End for our two immersive experiences: Van Gogh and exploration of the historic landmark, Camp North End.
Check into the Marriott in Charlotte's Uptown. Dinner on own that evening at any of the dozens of options near the hotel.
Day Two:
We spend the morning on a narrated City Tour of the Queen City to learn about the history of this gleaming, modern city and see many different types of architecture from modern skyscrapers to Victorian and early 19th century homes set along beautiful tree lined streets. Along the way, professional guides inform us about each area of the City including interesting facts and history. The morning ends with a leg stretch and lunch break at Southpark Mall featuring 150 shops and 20 eateries. before we travel back east to the coast.
