Itinerary

Day 1
Cusco

Bienvenidos! Welcome to Peru. You will be picked up at Cusco Airport and after a welcoming reception you will be transfer to the chosen hostel. Cusco is not just a simple town; it is a place of man-made beauty. Some consider it a time machine of sorts because it is the oldest inhabited city in the western Hemisphere, now called the archeological capital of America, and it is one of the new wonders of the world.

In the afternoon, the Imperial Cusco City tour starts. You will visit four archaeological sites located 7 km northeast of the city. The first of these sights is going to be in Sacsayhuaman, where the Incas showed to the conquistadors the power of their Empire by building such an incredible place using huge stones that weight approximate 120 tons. The second of these sights will be Q’enqo, ceremonial center. The third one will be Pucapucara, control point that served as a kind of custom office and finally Tambomachay, a sacred place where Incas worshiped the water.

This was a spure-of-the-moment trip for me, and my first trip with Matilde. I have to say that I was beyond impressed with the whole trip! Matilde and her team are Very professional! So easy to work with and so much fun! Our group was perfectly matched. Every thing was arranged to our best interests and we never felt like being a tour, it was more like visiting a host family. I'm going to go back again next year! Thank you Conqure Peru for the memories of a life time.
