About this trip

The famous classic trail of the Incas leading you to one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, the Quechua Citadel of Machu Picchu, re-discovered for the western world by Hiram Bingham III in 1911 with the guidance of local indigenous farmers. Take the trail over a slower paced 5 days, camp at the quieter less visited Phuyapatamarca, arrive at the sungate after all the queues, then with excited anticipation, look forward to your full 5th day visit after a restful night in a hotel.

Our tour guide “Zac” gave our family group of six the best tour ever and became our family friend. Highly recommend this class act tour company and 100% will use again. we had an adventure of our lives. i enjoyed my experience thoroughly and i give alot of credit to Zac and his team for executing and delivering the 10-day programme so delightfully & professionally. I recommend Queche Treks highly. first, we spend a few days in the sacred valley to acclimitize before the hike because of the elevation. then, we hiked for 4 days before arriving at the great machu pichu. after that, we did some sightseeing at cusco for a few days. We were there in late May till early June and got to enjoy lovely weather, dry and sunny. we were lucky. Love the Peruvian food and hospitality, all delivered with much passion and great camaraderie by Zac and his team consisting of the assistant guide, chef & kitchen helpers, operation team who transported our belongings and set up tents and the muleteer. This was a fabulous trip! I would highly recommend Quechua Treks to anyone. Mayra organized the trip beautifully, customizing the trip to our group's desires and different schedules. Zac was a wonderful guide who made sure we were all comfortable, well taken care of and having the best possible experience. Zac's knowledge of the history, culture, flora and fauna of Peru was outstanding and added to the enjoyment of our trip. Not to mention his great sense of humor! I would not have changed a thing! I thank Mayra & Zac for an experience of a lifetime!
