About this trip

The Inca trail has incredible routes, steps through the Andean mountains, archeological centers of the Inca civilization, cloud forests full of wildlife, this is the most popular and recognized hike worldwide.

The Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the most popular trek in all of Peru, this sacred trail is full of a lot of history and is part of what it used to be in the time of the Inca empire. This 26-mile trail is the only way to access Machu Picchu directly after 3 amazing treks in the Andes of Peru. It is the most controlled hike in Peru. Walk permits, controlled by the government, can only be purchased by licensed operators.

All our tours of the Inca Trail are with tour guides specialized in high mountains, and extensive knowledge of a lot of history, made up of a great team of workers, fully trained for the trip, meals, camps, assistance and personalized service, our job is to guarantee your safety and integrity.

If you choose this route to Machupicchu via the Inca Trail, it will certainly be a great challenge. However, we have another even more challenging, more beautiful option, is the Salkantay route.

Whichever route you choose, we will be attentive to advise and help you choose the best option.

IMPORTANT INFO

The Ministry of Culture in Peru is in charge of all regulations of the Inca Trail, including permits and campsites. To enter the Inca Trail, you must have a permit that matches your NAME, PASSPORT NUMBER, NATIONALITY, and AGE issued by the Ministry of Culture. Only licensed Inca Trail tour operators can secure these, and they are not transferable in date or name at any time. If you are unable to start your Inca Trail trek on your start date, you can not transfer to another person. If you need to change your start date, you will need to make sure permits still exist for the new date and purchase a new permit. These are all rules of the government of Peru that we need to follow.

If permits are sold out for your desired start date, there are lots of other roads that lead to Machu Picchu. We can help you find the perfect trek for you.
