INDIA: A SACRED JOURNEY
Join Cathy Connors and Allie Rae on a spiritual retreat to Northern India. Cathy and Allie Rae met in 2012 at a local yoga studio and instantly connected through their love of yoga. In 2014 they travelled to Bhakti Fest together and met their main teachers. Allie met Sianna Sherman and Cathy met Ananda Mehrota. Each have studied extensively with their teachers ever since and it is their greatest joy to share the teachings.
Our retreat journey will begin in Agra where we will visit the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It took 22 years and 20,000 workers to complete this perfectly symmetrical monument.
We will then make our journey to Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, where we will attend the week-long Sattva Summit. The Sattva Summit is a boutique, conscious gathering, nestled along the river in the first foothills of the Himalayas.
During our stay at Sattva Retreat center, we will have first class accommodations, as well as three nourishing Ayurvedic meals daily. There will be an amazing line-up of world-class teachers offering many sacred traditions of yoga during the festival. Teachers include: Anand Mehrota, Gurmukh KaurKhalsa, Kia Miller, Tommy Rosen, Cathy Connors and more.
The land of Rishikesh is known for its tremendous vibrational healing energy. As a group, we will go on a hike and take 3 group excursions to the Himalayan Yogi Cave, Golden Temple at Sunrise and attend an evening Aarti ceremony along the bank of the Ganga. There will be more optional excursions while we are at the Summit. And we will definitely be dipping our toes in the soul-nurturing Ma River Ganges.
After the summit ends, we will begin to make our way back to Delhi where there will be an optional excursion to the Lotus Temple. Our journey will end here in Delhi.
In its simplest form, Sattva means purity of spirit, and has redefined the experience of retreat. Whether you are seeking to take a rest, feel greater joy, detoxify and cleanse, access the gateway of ancient wisdom, sharpen your intentions, or perhaps have no plan at all, Sattva Retreat offers guidance and flexibility
More than an oasis of rest and revitalization, Sattva Retreat is a unique blend of ancient and contemporary offerings located on ceremonial ground. As a Sattva Retreat guest you can experience sacred land where great masters, yogis, and mystics of all ages continue to imprint the essence of wisdom that is even more relevant today.
Nestled in the powerful energy and natural beauty of the Himalayas, this haven rests alongside a pure waterway that flows down from the mountains and into the Ganges River, revered as “Mother Ganga” by yogis for her healing characteristics that confound classical science.
Sattva Retreat is located in the outskirt of the heart of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga and ancient wisdom, and home to great Indian epic texts such as the Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, and the Upanishads.
Every part of this refuge is uniquely designed to revitalize and awaken “reasonless joy” within its guests, whether you come as an individual for a personal retreat or as part of a group experience, one time or many.
