Itinerary:
Arrive by March 15th to Belize City and transfer by van for a 2 hour drive to the Cayo District and to our huge private house at Du Plooys Rainforest Lodge on the river ! This award-winning and highly rated Eco retreat boasts their own renowned botanical gardens, hiking trails, horses, renowned chef and staff and a friendly family of monkeys called Kinkajous you can feed ! The river and beach is lovely and the lodge will provide us with tubes and kayaks to enjoy at our leisure and even will pick us up down the river after we've been floating for a while!
Staying there for 5 days – check out on the 20th. We will be staying at the Belize River House with Macal and Mopan Suites. The River House is divided into 2 suites with a total of 7 bedrooms (2 beds in each room), 4 large lovely bathrooms and 2 open area living rooms and 2 outdoor covered porches to sit and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape and jungle. We may upgrade one couple to a private cottage close by !
All yummy meals, accomodation, taxes, tips, use of floats and boats and 4 adventures of your choice here are included ( although small entrance fees to some of the caves and ruins are extra )

Some of the fully guided adventures there offered are horseback riding to Caracol or Xunantunich – both famous Mayan Ruins and they will drive us back if we prefer, floating on tubes through cave systems, exploring the Rio On parks with waterfalls and natural pools for a swim with a picnic lunch provided and a stop at a Butterfly Ranch, canoeing in the huge Bartons Cave, learning about mayan traditional medicine with a local shaman walking through gardens and more ! One of the highlights for fit people in our group is the Actun Tunichil Muknal or Cave of the Crystal Sepulchre or “ATM” as known locally, is the most impressive Mayan Burial site in Western Belize.

On March 20th we have a 2 hour transfer by van over to Guatemala to stay at the Tikal Inn which is right on the grounds of the must see TIKAL Mayan City, a world heritage site. We can have our lunch and dinner ( on our own dime ) at the hotel, swim and we will do some yoga and Watsu in the lovely pool and then have two choice times ( or both ) to see Tikal, that afternoon to the sunset, and / or to wake up early and see the sunrise over Tikal the next morning and we will have a little ceremony, a meditation and light Yoga practice in front of the famous pyramid there. Entrance fee to Tikal included as well as breakfast included on the 21st. Our border fee back into belize is also included !
March 21st After breakfast we have a van transfer us to Dangriga, then a short fun boat ride to a little island surrounded by barrier reef called South Water Caye. We stay on this island paradise for 4 days. Included activities are chilling in hammocks, kayaking around the island, SUP, snorkeling right off your door step, 2 boat tours to other little islands to relax and to snorkel in this pristine marine reserve. They have a huge open air Yoga room next to the ocean that we do our daily practice in and have nighttime play shops at ! Some of us will do a dive or two as the diving is top notch ! They are providing a Garifuna Drum Band for our final night dance party ! B L D included
