We live in a time of constant change and seemingly endless upheaval, one in which we are relentlessly called to do more. Confronted with the ceaseless demands of capitalism and our economic realities, the constant needs of those for whom we are caretakers, the cries for justice and reform of inhumane and oppressive systems, and the realities of inhabiting a warming and wounded planet, we are overwhelmed and exhausted. Our brains and bodies evolved in a world that was vastly different from the one which we currently inhabit, and the speed and intensity at which we operate is often more than we can bear.
Over these four days, we will build our capacity to keep our hearts open by being in community with others who see and honor our struggle, making space to experience our bodies’ innate emotional wisdom, and engaging in practices that nourish our spirits and nervous systems. We will disconnect from the urgency and insistence of our daily lives so that we might access the deeper layers of intelligence and wisdom present in our bodies and in the natural world. Our time together will offer a balance of both personal practice and group activities.
