About your trip

Wild camping is one of the most exciting and rewarding outdoor activities that you can embark upon, but it can be daunting for beginners.

This course has been designed to guide you through the major considerations for camping in the wild, equipping you with the skills required to camp safely and enjoyably.

You will be able to learn new skills, gain confidence, and replicate the wild camping experience with friends anywhere in the UK!

Venturing into wild camping at an intermediate level offers heightened challenges and remote experiences. Our program emphasizes practical application over extensive skills, focusing on honing your existing abilities in more adventurous and secluded settings.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure! Our meeting point is at the Ivybridge parking location, ready to start at around 11 am (any location updates will be communicated in writing). Prepare for an exhilarating day ahead as we conduct a thorough gear check, ensuring we're geared up for our upcoming wilderness expedition.

Day one unfolds with a captivating 9-12km backpacking trek, leading us to a mesmerizing wild camping spot for the night. It's not just a walk in the park—get ready to dive into a day brimming with hands-on learning.

Discover the art of navigation using maps and compasses, improve your skills in setting up camp shelters (tent/tarp), master the intricate craft of water purification, and immerse yourself in essential safety protocols to ensure a secure and enjoyable camping experience.

In the evening, we'll set up camp, prepare meals, and unwind in the tranquillity of nature.

We aim to conclude by 3 pm, allowing for breaks and, weather permitting, some serene moments by a nearby stream before bidding adieu.
