About this trip

Learn to backpack like a pro with this 3-day adventure into the Nantahala National Forest.

3 Days/2 Nights - All Inclusive

With this three-day adventure to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina's Nantahala National Forest, you’ll learn a full set of backpacking and hiking skills, while exploring one of the most beautiful areas along the Appalachian Trail.

During this adventure, we’ll discuss topics like how to pick and set up a campsite, how to pack and fit your backpack, and basic survival and navigation techniques.

Where you will go

For this beginner level adventure, we’ve picked a scenic hike in one of our favorite places to backpack in the southeast – The Nantahala National Forest. Your group will hike a little over 4 miles up the Kimsey Creek Trail, seeing waterfalls, mountain streams and a majestic forest, before camping for 3 days at a spacious backcountry campsite.

What you will need to bring along

To put it simply – not much.

We at World’s Best Adventures want to ignite your passion for the outdoors, whether you’re new to hiking and the outdoors or a seasoned backpacker. But we also know how daunting it can be to find the right gear, find the right trails, find the right group, and then actually get out and come back safe.

So let us do the heavy lifting.

Sign up for this trip and we’ll provide the biggest most expensive pieces of gear you’ll need; breakfast, dinners, snacks, drinks and goodies for the duration of the trip; and a slew of lessons on hiking and the outdoors from seasoned professionals.

You’ll bring yourself (duh), clothes, boots, a sleeping bag (which we can help you find or even provide for an additional cost), spork and a few other essentials.

See our packing list for a full list of gear.
