About this trip

If you can dream it, you can do it. What about making that dream a reality with Secret Ireland Tours. We are going to bring you to the most fabulous places in Ireland and you are going to stay in a variety of great Castles during your trip.


You stay in 4 Castles Hotels.  This list of hotels is tentative, if we do not secure one of these we will book a similar Castle hotel. All hotels will be 4/5 star.

Terms and Conditions

1  The company requires non-refundable deposits to be paid as per tour in a timely manner. By paying a deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Company.

2  Our tours are all based on double occupancy. There will be an additional supplement for single travelers which will depend on tour taken. 

3  Payment for deposit will hold your place, final balance  payment will be 30 days before the start of your choice of  tour. 

4  Installment plans are available for anyone who would like to avail of them.

5  Travel insurance is something that the company strongly suggests all clients purchase to protect their travel investment.

6  Due to limited capacity on coaches, there is a limit of one suitcase per passenger. 

7  Participants are responsible for all their property, luggage, backpacks, phone's, laptops etc. 

8  The company tour guide will give all participants phone no's of tour guides and driver at the start of the trip or in an email before the start of the trip, it is vital that you keep these in a safe place.

9  At the start of each day your tour guide will tell you what time you should be ready, or to be on the bus for the next day's journey, it is up to you to contact your guide if you missed announcements on times. 

10 There is a cancellation fee for participants who cancel within 90 days of the start of trip. Please see contract.

11  Some of our trips require walking over stony roads and pathways, it is advised to always bring strong waterproof walking shoes, and waterproof/windproof outer coats/jackets also.

12 We also advise all participants to let us know of food allergies they have.

13 Each participant is responsible for their baggage being brought from the Coach to their accommodation except in the case where the company have booked porterage. The group will be advised where porterage will take place.

14 Conditions, availability, or contractual obligations may warrant for dates, venues, lodging, talent/celebrity headliners/hosts/guests. Ambassadors, tour guides or transportation modes to be changed or cancelled. It is our intent and obligation, within the best of our ability, to substitute and /or accommodate equal or enhanced alternatives. We will not refund any deposits or payments towards the tour due to these conditions.

What's included

Airport Transfers

We pick you up on day 1 at terminal 2, Dublin airport at 9am. So please book your flight to come in before that time.

Accommodation

We stay in 4 Irish Castles that are 4/5 Star hotels. Private facilities in each room.

Food

8 Hearty breakfasts that will keep you going all day. We offer 2 evening meals.

Bus

We have a great bus company that supplies us with a very comfortable motor coach.

Driver

We have an expert driver who knows the roads like the back of his hand. He is also great fun.

Guide

We have an expert Secret Ireland Tours guide to look after you while you are in Ireland.

Fees

Entry fees into all venues on the itinerary.

All taxes and Charges

All taxes and charges associated with the accommodation and bus is covered.

Entertainment

We book some local musicians to entertain us one of the nights while on tour.

Airfare

We do not deal with flights. We ask you NOT to book your flight until we give you the go-ahead.

Food

We do not cover lunches and some evening meals

Travel Insurance

Day 1

Day 1 image

Belvedere House, Strokestown House, Markree Castle

We pick you up in Terminal 2 Dublin airport at 9am on the morning of Sept 21st and bring you to our first stop...Belvedere House. This house has a rich but sad history and you will learn all about it, you will also see and hear about "the Jealous Wall".

We then go further North West to Strokestown house where you will see a famine museum. This was one of the Grand Houses owned by the gentry and many stories were told about the owners of this house and the famine times in Ireland. 

We then make our way to our first Castle accommodation in Sligo and that is called Markree Castle.

Day 2

Mullaghmore Coastal drive, Lisadell House, Drumcliff

We take a scenic drive around Mullaghmore coast today, we then visit another grand house called Lissadell House in Co Sligo and we then visit the last resting place of one of our famous poets WB Yeats. Lissadell house was a place that WB Yeats spend a lot of time. Again a place rich in history, and it has beautiful gardens to explore too!

Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle Abbey

We leave our first Castle and make our way to Lough Rynn in Co Leitrim. But on the way we spend some time in the beautiful Lough Key Forest Park and we also visit a 12th century Abbey in Boyle Co Roscommon.. There you will see an 11th century remains of a Castle that sits on its own Island. Again rich in history with beautiful walks. There is plenty to explore while in the park.

Day 4

Lough Gill, Glencar Waterfall,

We take a scenic drive around Lough Gill today, and also take a boat ride on the lake. We also visit Glencar Waterfall. This is a breath-taking place. You will enjoy the lakes and the scenery. 

Day 5

Leitrim Crystal, and Leitrim Distillery

Would you like to see a crystal cutting craftsman at work, well now you can. We will see Ken from Leitrim Crystal cutting glass as only he knows how. He is one of the last craftsmen who actually cut glass by hand. We will visit the smallest Church in Europe and we will also visit a distillery. 

We then make our way to our second beautiful Castle Hotel and that is Lough Eske Castle in Co Donegal.  We get there early so that we can enjoy the grounds and the walled garden, and we can relax in the luxury of the castle for the evening.

Day 6

Sliabh Liag

Sliabh Liag is the highest facing cliff in Europe and it is by far the most breath-taking. The views on the way there are spectacular and when you get to the viewing platform you will be amazed of the beauty of the place. You can then take a walk along the cliffs and look down into the ocean. We then go to Donegal town to explore the shops and restaurants for a while before going back to the Castle.

Day 7

Ulster Folk Museum, New Grange and Fitzpatricks Caslte

We leave the North West today and make our way back to Dublin but on the way we visit the Ulster Folk museum where you learn and see how people lived long ago in Ireland. We see the type of houses we lived in, the type of work we did, what we cooked on and so much more. We then go up to a megalithic tomb that pre- dates the pyramids by 500 years. We then arrive in our final Castle accommodation. Fitzpatricks Castle is a favorite of ours and it is only 5 mins from the beach in South Dublin. We can relax in luxury.

Exploring Dublin

Today is yours to do what you want. If you wish to go into Dublin city center and explore yourself we will drop you in and pick you up at a set time, or if you wish to stay, relax  and enjoy all the castle has to offer then that is what you should do!

Return to airport

We return you to the airport today but when you are booking your flights please book your return flight to leave anytime after 1pm on the last day of the trip. We must have you at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight because American customs are there and you will have to go through both Irish and American customs and it can take a long time. We won't say goodbye to you but we will say...Until you come back, take care!
