Timeless Baja is an adventure travel company. We are located in southern Baja California, where there are still very few developed communities and many coasts and deserts are still devoid of any trace of civilization. We feel it is in these places that you really can breathe in the essence of an extraordinary land, and we develop journeys that wind through these untouched areas, where humans have only made sporadic passage, like that of other animal species, passing through, and leaving it intact.

This was an experimental foray into some of the deliciousness of beautiful Namibia. We flew from Victoria Falls to Windhoek, were met there by our guide Hofni and vanned to our hotel, the Rooftop of Africa. This charming place was built by itinerant German carpenters. Our jolly innkeeper, Bjorn, plus the warm fire and delicious goulash made for a fine night, both coming and going. Clean comfy rooms and warm down duvets. We drove the next day to Bushmans camp near the tiny town of Solitaire ..What a find that was! Completely isolated on the gorgeous desert, we were the first guests. The kind and knowledgeable hosts took us on a tour explaining how people survive on the driest desert in the world. They had dug a well and found water, solar heated for our showering pleasure. The dining room looked out upon the vast desert, escarpments and watering hole which attracted hundreds of wild zebra. There were also some oryx. We learned how the bushmen survived their nomadic life. There were twelve beautiful casitas with sliding glass window walls, simple comfortable beds and opportunity for hiking. Yuri, our hostess prepared delicious and simple food. The next day we were driven to dune 45 for exploring, also the “dead Veli” and Sesriem Canyon. The roads are washboard and slow, all the better to gape at the artistic wind swept dunes on either side. The next day we drove to Swakopsmund on the Atlantic coast, a beautiful seaside resort for many Europeans. We stayed at the hotel Strand , a stunning luxury hotel on the beach. Seafood was delicious. The town was very European in design., with lots of beautiful artifacts to shop for: weavings, paintings, pottery and trinkets to take home. We did bird watching and went to a church to hear African singing. Finally we drove back to Windhoek on a paved highway!! To finish off our trip. The people we met were gracious and wanted to make our trip special. Very sweet. We were very pleased with the trip!!

This was the adventure of a lifetime! Deborah was an excellent host, planner, and guide. We got to spend time in planned activities as well as adequate free time. The small group allowed for building strong bonds with one another and the start of long-lasting friendships from around the country. We went to a marine sanctuary near Loreto and saw a variety of sea birds, mammals, and underwater sea life (snorkeling). Our experience with the whales was unbelievable! We stayed in a remote camp with excellent people. They took us out 5 times, we saw many whales each time, and had the pleasure of close-up touching several times. We also went to a salt flat - another first experience for me. Overall the views of Baja countryside and seas was exquisite. I want to thank Deborah Stephens for giving me this opportunity. I will definitely travel with her again!

We had a wonderful adventure on this trip. We traveled many places in Baja, saw whales and their babies, rode mules down into the cavern, ate some interesting things, took tons of photos. If you want adventure this is a must do!
