This trip is for those of you who love the outdoors.  The Islands off the West and North West coast of Ireland have spectacular scenery, culture, traditions and the people are warm and welcoming. Some of the islands people speak through the medium of the Irish language. They have amazing craft stores and restaurants on the islands, Flora and fauna, ancient sites and so much more. We go by boat into the Islands and it is always great fun.  We visit four islands.....Inismór which is the largest of the Aran Islands, Inisbofin , Achill Island and Coney Island. 

Secret Ireland Tours are committed to doing everything possible to keep our clients safe while on tour with us in Ireland. As many know we rescheduled all of our 2020 tours to 2021 and we are keeping in close contact with the health Department in Ireland. All of the venue's and hotels we use have completed a Safety Charter course which allowed them to open to the public. We will not visit any site or stay in any hotel that has not completed this course. It was created by the tourist board in Ireland. We will do everything in our power to keep everybody safe. 

We believe that this tour that was rescheduled will go ahead but we will keep a close eye on the conditions and if we need to reschedule again, we will do so in consultation with you our clients.

We pick you up at Shannon Airport today at 9am and bring you to a very special place called Quin. There we see dwellings that the Irish used 100's of years ago called Cranógs.  These dwellings are built out on a lake. You will learn how people lived during that time, how the cooked, worked, socialized and protected themselves. We then go to Galway where we can take the evening to explore or just go straight to our hotel and relax for the evening.

We go from Galway to Rossaveal harbor where we catch our first boat ride to the amazing Aran Islands. We stay on the island for the night but spend our day exploring the island. There is so much to do and see. People can take a horse and buggy around the island, or you can hire a bike and cycle, or there are drivers there that you can hire. There are ancient sites on the island, Craft shops, workshops, beautiful beaches and so much more for you to enjoy. The day is yours to do with what you wish.

We take morning boat out from the islands today and take a scenic drive through Connemara. We stop in some quaint coastal villages and also visit Kylemore Abbey. Stunning scenery in this part of the country. 

We take a boat into this breath-taking scenic Island today. Again you can take a hike while exploring this amazing place. The people here are so warm and friendly. The restaurants are great, there are beautiful beaches and so much to discover here. If you are by chance a photographer or a writer you will be inspired while here. The pubs have music at night time and we will have a great time enjoying the Irish culture.

We leave inisbofin today and take a trip to Achill Island. We can drive here as there is a bridge to the island. While there we visit some beautiful beaches, we also visit the deserted village. This was a thriving village until the famine when all the locals either died or left for America.  

We visit craft people while on the Island.

Today we take a drive to Downpatrick Head in Co Mayo. Here you will have the chance to take some amazing photos. We then go to the  Céide Fields which is  the most extensive Neolithic site in Europe. We lean about the people of the time, their lives and their culture. We return to Achill for the night.

We leave Achill today and make our way to Sligo. There is a little Island off the Sligo coast called Coney Island, we are taking a short boat ride into the Island and having a BBQ while there if the weather permits. We stay in Rosses Point tonight. Your hotel is 5 mins walk from the beach and there is also a golf course just outside the door, so if anyone wants to stay in Rosses Point. We can arrange if you want to do a spot of Golf while in Ireland. Just ask!

On our way to our last accommodation near Shannon airport we will visit Knock Shrine, Kinvara Castle and we also get some time in Limerick city today to do some shopping. 

We enjoy a meal together and have a chat about what you thought about all the places you have seen.

We bring you back to Shannon Airport today. We ask you to book your return flights to leave anytime after 1pm in the afternoon because all travelers who travel back to the States must check in at least 3 hours before their flights. We do not say goodbye but rather we say "Until we see you back in Ireland again, safe travels"
