Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival, board your private motor coach and set off on a journey to Sorrento. Stop in Pompeii, the Roman city both destroyed and preserved by an eruption of Mt. Vesuvius more than 2000 years ago. Today’s visit will show you real Roman life in the excavated bakeries, wine shops, groceries, and villas that were buried in ash. Overnight in Sorrento.  D

Spend the morning crossing the sparkling blue sea to the Isle of Capri. Plan on picking up some souvenirs in the local charming shops. Venture through the narrow medieval alleyways and mazes of cobbled streets. You will enjoy discovering streets of vibrant flower-filled gardens, picturesque hidden churches, and windows shuttered in typical Italian style from days of old. B, D

After breakfast, transfer to Nettuno for a visit at the U.S. Cemetery,  which stands as a solemn expanse of meticulously kept grounds overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The cemetery is a serene and dignified resting place for the fallen heroes of World War II. Continue to Rome. Discover the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built having an average audience of 65,000. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, and re-enactments of famous battles.  B, D

This morning, leave Rome behind as you cross the Tiber and enter the independent city-state of the Vatican for a guided tour. View impressive works of art that make up the Vatican’s 500 year old collection, including Assyrian, Etruscan and Palestinian antiquities, as well as tapestries, mosaics, ceramics, and religious art. Within the Vatican Museums you will discover the impressive Sistine Chapel ceiling by Michelangelo. See Bernini’s legacy, St. Peter’s Square, and visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world.  This afternoon continue discovering Rome with your tour leader.  B, D

Journey to Bologna. Along the way, stop in Florence to see Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of David in the Accademia Museum as you tour its extensive collections. Founded by the powerful Medici family, the museum also houses works by Botticelli, Giambologna and Carravaggio, to name a few. Continue to Bologna area. Dinner at a local restaurant.  B, D

Embark on a journey to Lake Garda and enjoy a high-speed boat ride across the water, taking in breathtaking views of the majestic Alps and charming lakeside towns. After the thrilling adventure, indulge in leisurely strolls through the picturesque streets of Sirmione. Marvel at the idyllic beauty and historic charm of this enchanting lakeside town. Following breakfast at the hotel, board your private motor coach for a journey to Switzerland. Ascend to the summit of Mt. Titlis aboard the tram. At 3,041 metres above sea level, Europe’s highest suspension bridge leads you over the south wall to the top station of the Ice Flyer glacier chair lift. You’ll be captivated by the awe-inspiring beauty of the surrounding mountain vistas for the afternoon. Continue to Engelberg for overnight.  B, D

After breakfast, depart Engelberg for a white water rafting adventure or canyoning in Interlaken. Navigate through thrilling rapids amidst the breathtaking Swiss landscape. B, D
