      About this trip

Jacksonville State University is thrilled to announce its upcoming trip to perform in the D-Day Memorial Parade in Normandy, France. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will take place on June 6th, commemorating the 79th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The Marching Southerner's will have the honor of representing JSU and the United Stated in this historic event. The trip includes several days of sightseeing and cultural experiences, including visits to the Normandy American Cemetery and the historic town of Bayeux.

This trip promises to be a meaningful and memorable experience for all involved, as the students not only get to showcase their talents but also pay tribute to the brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

My adventure through Spain was unforgettable. Starting in Logroño, I joined the vibrant Batalla del Vino festival and enjoyed delicious tapas and Rioja wines. In Burgos, the stunning Cathedral left me in awe, and León's historic charm captivated me. Vigo's Samil Beach offered a refreshing coastal escape, while Salamanca's historic university and vibrant plaza were a delight. The trip concluded with a panoramic tour of Madrid, highlighted by the majestic Alcazar of Segovia. Way to go to Team TMF for making this an unforgettable experience for me! I look forward to more international adventures with this group.

We had an OK time. People were very nice and worked hard to maneuver around a lot of obstacles. I think there should be a minimum age to participate in the tour. I did not feel that it was appropriate to bring a 9-month-old infant. Most all the people on our bus were over 65. I did not pay to listen to a crying baby.

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly appreciate the effort it took to plan and coordinate this trip for nearly 400+ people. The coordinators in France were constantly working to overcome obstacles (flight delays, missed flights, last minute event changes due to dignitaries). The Normandy part of the trip was amazing. The skill of the bus drivers to navigate through small villages with heavy traffic was amazing. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and exactly what was expected when traveling in Europe. Our tour Coordinator (Bus 5) Hans stayed on top of everything and kept us well informed throughout the trip. The audible he called to divert to Bayeux was brilliant (that city needs to be included in future trips). All in all, very well done. Thanks again for a great trip to France!

I have been on trips like this before.....not with 500 people trying to get them from one place to the other, but never have I felt so unorganized. This trip has been in the making for 3+ years. Original prices went up $800 per ticket and I literally was thinking I was going to the airport to figure out what flight I was on until a few days before when i was finally given flight information......our guide was amazing Anna and our driver Marco......Our first museum trip was canceled because it took 4 hours for us to load a bus and leave the airport.......we stopped at a gas station or grocery store 3 times to buy food for lunch.....we coyldnt even eat wh where we were assigned to eat the first night because our bus got into Normandy so late.......the first cemetery was amazing and would have liked to gone to the American Cemetary, but Biden had other plans for our trip that day. Utah Beach and Omaha Beach were both amazing, but my opinion, plans should have been made so that we could still go to the American Cemetary before leaving for Paris. Note: St. Mere-Egleis was amazing and the amount of time spent there, gave the full experience for the kids and adults......Paris.....oh my......we were asked to be 2-3 people per room, but the rooms in Paris really did not accommodate 3 people per room......there were only 2 twin beds in the Hampton Inn rooms. We made due, but it wasn't the best accommodations for 3 grown adults.....There were several things that we were supposed to go to that tickets were not bought for......at least on the itinerary set from the beginning.......for instance, the eiffel tower......listed as part of the itinerary, but we drove by.......who goes to Paris and doesn't go to the eiffel tower......overall, the trip was stressful, but nice at the same time....when we were dropped off to do things there wasn't enough time to actually walk and see what they were telling you to go see because the wait lines were so long.....Anyway this was our first trip with TMF and I was not impressed, but for the sake of what my kids learned and got to see, I am very grateful.

We had a wonderful trip with the Marching Southerners and Marching Ballerinas! Our bus driver, Obi Y, and our Tour Guide, Mika, were fabulous as well. They always did their best to take car of us! I was amazed at how well organized this trip was with getting such a large group to all of the same places at the same time. AMAZING!! I know there were things that happened that were out of the control of anyone but your company seemed to handle things beautifully! Thank you again for all of the behind the scenes work and making this trip a memory we will never forget!
