Day 1: Arrival to Tokyo

  • Airport Pickup & Check-in at Hotel 

Evening

  • Zojo-ji Temple: A Buddhist temple, home to the tombs of six Tokugawa shoguns. It is the main temple of the Jōdo-shÅ« Chinzei sect of Buddhism in the Kanta region.
  • Explore Roppongi: One of Tokyo’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan neighborhoods, known for its art scene, international flair, and nightlife. 
  • Tokyo Tower: Also known as the Japan Radio Tower, is a communications and observation tower in the district of Shiba-koen in Minato.

Night: 

  • Welcome  Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Japanese-style dinner, perfect for trying small, shareable dishes. (8:00 PM).
  • Explore: The vibrant nightlife of Roppongi, Shibuya, or Shinjuku, OR 
  • Carnival kickoff party: Soca Magic, a Cosplay theme Soca Party

Ā· J’ouvert in Japan- The Largest J’ouvert party in Asia. Paint, Water, Foam, and Vibes! (11 AM-4 PM).


Evening: 


Ā· Omoide Yokocho – A collection of alleyways hidden from the main street holding tiny, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and Golden Gai, a hotspot for hopping amongst a clutter of offbeat, mismatched bars with an attractive flair. Also, look for the giant Godzilla head towering over the streets atop the Toho Cinema building.


Night: 


Ā· Leisure Time- Free time, OR

Ā· Rum N Bass- All genres are aligned. Soca, Dancehall, Afrobeats, R&B, and the best of current times.

Day 3: Explore Asakusa

Sun - September 21st: Explore Asakusa

Morning/Afternoon:


Ā· Senso-ji Temple: Tokyo’s oldest and most famous temple (10 AM).

Ā· Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple: A Buddhist temple with unique Indian-inspired architecture.

Ā· Kimono & Photoshoot: Dress in a Kimono and take traditional photos around Asakusa and at the Asakusa Shrine (Kimono rental is not included in the package price).


Evening:


Ā· Tokyo Skytree: The world’s tallest tower with views of Mount Fuji from the top observation decks (4 PM)


Night: 

 
Ā· Free Time/Dinner: Return to the hotel and relax, enjoy dinner at the many restaurants in Roppongi Hills and the surrounding areas, OR

Ā· Carnival Concert: Island Nations – A Concert Featuring International Soca Artists.

Day 4: Sumo & Go Karts

Mon - September 22nd: Imperial Palace, Sumo and Go Karts

Morning:

  • Imperial Palace Tour: Since 1868, it has served as the residence of successive Emperors. It contains the Imperial Residence and the Imperial Palace Complex, where His Majesty the Emperor undertakes official duties. (10 AM)

Afternoon:

  • Sumo Experience & Lunch: Learn the sumo world’s behind-the-scenes stories and their daily life and enjoy Chanko-nabe hot pot. (1-3 PM).  
  • Go Kart: Go-karting in the heart of the Metropolitan area is an experience that gives you an adrenaline rush like never before. This activity requires an International Driving Permit, encouraged to apply weeks before your departure to Tokyo, Japan (apply at https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html), (4 PM).

Night: 

  • Leisure Time: Free time to explore or relax.

Tues - September 23rd: Celebrate Japan’s Equinox Day & Carnival TIME!!

Morning/Afternoon:

  • Autumnal Equinox Day: A public holiday in Japan, marking the transition from summer to autumn, when day and night are of equal length.
  • Japan Carnival: 3rd Annual Celebration of Carnival in Japan - Enjoy a full day of carnival activities. (10 AM - 5 PM). Costume not included- If you would like to purchase, please let us know.(Prices range from $150-700)

Evening/Night: 

  • Free Time: Return to the Hotel and relax or explore. Prepare for departure to Hakone, Mount Fuji in the morning. 

Day 6: Japan Highlights

Wed - September 24th: Mount Fuji, Nara, Kyoto, and Osaka

Morning:

  • Hotel Checkout (8:30 AM) in Roppongi
  • Pick up at 9 AM, start the tour from Tokyo - Kamakura - Hakone

Afternoon:

  • Kotoku-in (Great Buddha of Kamakura): An 11-meter-high bronze statue dating to 1252. 
  • Hasedera Temple: Home to one of Japan's largest wooden sculptures, a 9-meter wooden statue of the goddess of mercy. Relax in the spectacular gardens, enjoy the ocean view, or go underground in the temple's network of caves.
  • Romancecar train from Kamakura Station to Hakone.

 Evening: 

  • Enoshima Island: This scenic island has a shrine complex, sea caves, and a large public bath. You can also watch the surfing nearby.
  • Hakone Ropeway: Enjoy a relaxing foot bath and spectacular views before boarding your gondola down the mountain viewing Mount Fuji in the backdrop. 
  • Owaku-dani Valley: View the sulfur steam vents coming out from the crater valley. If you dare, eat kuro-tamago (black eggs) boiled in the sulfur springs. Said to add years to your life span. 
  • Hakone Pirate Ship: Take the pirate ship on a cruise over Lake Ashi and on clear days enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. 
  • Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu: The Hakone shrine has played an important role in Japanese history since 757AD. Visit the shrine complex hidden in a forest of massive cedar trees or the torii gate on the waters of Lake Ashi.
  • Mount Fuji (viewing spot): Enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Fuji on clear days as we drive between Hakone and Shizuoka.

Night: 

  • Leisure Time - Check-in Hotel in Hakone: Enjoy a traditional kaiseki dinner at the Ryokan and soak in the onsen.

Day 7: Mt. Fuji - Nagoya

Thurs - September 25th: Explore Mount. Fuji - Shizuoka - Nagoya

Morning/Afternoon: 

  • Mount Fuji and Surrounds: Taste the local specialties and enjoy views of Mt. Fuji and Japan's tea plantations.
  • Oshino Hakkai: Visit this picturesque folk village with 8 crystal clear ponds and shops selling local specialties.
  • Lake Kawaguchiko: Enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Fuji from Lake Kawaguchi on clear mornings.

Evening:

  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba: Explore a traditional village with many craft shops and old houses with thatched roofs. Enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Fuji and the Japanese countryside. 
  • Aokigahara Forest: Pass through one of Japan's most famous forests at the base of Mt. Fuji.
  • Shiraito Falls: Take a short walk to these 2 spectacular waterfalls. Enjoy local snacks.
  • Whisky & Sake Distillery Tour: Embark on a captivating journey into the heart of Japan’s world-renowned whisky and sake culture. This exclusive tour takes you behind Japan’s distilleries.

Night: 

  • Leisure Time in Nagoya city: Check in the hotel and spend the evening exploring Nagoya's Sakae district with its many colorful shops and restaurants.

Day 8: Nara to Osaka

Fri - September 26th: Explore Nara - Kyoto - Osaka

Morning:

  • Nara Park: Take a guided walk through Nara Park with its many over-friendly deer. 
  • Todai-ji Temple: Founded in 738, Todai-ji houses the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha inside the world's 2nd largest wooden building. Also on display are numerous other massive sculptures and works of art.
  • Arashiyama: Explore the World Heritage Tenryuji gardens and Zen temple before walking through Arashiyama's famous bamboo forest.

Afternoon/Evening:

  • Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Explore the World Heritage Kiyomizu temple and the traditional shops nearby. 
  • Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine: Fushimi Inari-taisha is home to over 10,000 orange torii gates that form a tunnel going up the mountain. The main structure was built in 1499 as a shrine for rice and agriculture, but it is better known as a shrine for merchants and business.

Night:

  • Dotonbori - Osaka: Check in to the hotel and spend the evening exploring the back street alleys in Osaka's most famous entertainment district.

Day 9: World Expo-Osaka

Sat-September 27th: World Expo: Designing Future Society for Our Lives

Morning/ Evening:

  • What is a World Expo? An event that brings together people and innovations from around the world to address issues facing humankind on a global scale. Japan's theme: Designing Future Society for Our Lives, centered around sustainability. 
  • Explore Japan’s World Expo in Osaka. Visiting multiple installations with plenty of interactive and other activities throughout the day at your leisure. Full-day access is included in the package price. 

Night:

  • Explore Osaka’s vibrant city and nightlife

Day 10: Final Day

Morning:

  • Check out: Prepare to depart back to Tokyo
  • Bullet Train -  From Osaka to Tokyo

Afternoon/Evening: Leisure Time (Optional Activities)

  • TeamLab Planets: Interactive digital art museum
  • Shibuya Sky: Best city views
  • Toyo Game Show: See what the gaming giants—Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix, Sega have to offer, while you can also check out the indie developers, mobile game developers, and exciting VR games (25th- 28th)
  • Shopping:  Shop in the Fashion district of the East, areas such as Ginza and  Omotesando for luxury goods, Shibuya for modern trends, Akihabara, a haven for electronics and otaku culture, and Asakusa for traditional Japanese.

Night: 

  • Rooftop Farewell Dinner: Recap highlights and share your moments with your fellow travelers. 
  • Leisure time: Explore Shibuya and Shinjuku nightlife
