Jersey - The Wild Swimming Retreat 26–29 May 2025
Join us for a four-day escape at Chateau Vermont, a historic gem in the heart of Jersey. Our exclusive hire includes acres of lush grounds, elegant verandas, and expansive pergolas. Home to the Jersey Academy of Music, you might even hear aspiring musicians practicing during the day.
Explore every corner of this emerald isle, with swims and dips carefully planned to suit all weather conditions. From rugged northern shores to pristine southern sands, you’ll experience Jersey's finest, all with breath taking views of France.
Your retreat includes transfers (at set times), transport, guided swims, dips, hikes, morning and evening meals, and, of course, homemade cake—every single day!

Whether you're a solo traveler or part of a small group, this retreat is perfect for making lasting friendships. Beginners, breaststrokers, improvers, and seasoned swimmers are all welcome, with swim options up to 2km per day—or simply enjoy a gentle daily swimble. Arrive Friday at 1 pm and depart Monday at 1 pm (Bank Holiday). Transfers from the airport or ferry terminal are provided around noon.

Meet Our Swim Guides
Mel Mel is TWSCo’s full-time swim guide, a qualified Beach Lifeguard, Open Water Swim Coach, and holder of the National Water Safety Management Programme. Currently pursuing a Diploma in Cold Water Therapy, Mel is also a nutritionist, personal trainer, and runs a thriving Swim School.
Owen
Owen is a dedicated adventure guide and Beach Lifeguard with extensive experience in water safety, including the National Water Safety Management Programme.
Rich
Rich is a Beach Lifeguard, Open Water Lifeguard, and Open Water Swim Coach, with qualifications in the National Water Safety Management Programme. As a National Trainer Assessor for The Royal Lifesaving Society, Rich delivers a wide range of water safety and lifeguard training. He also serves as RNLI lifeboat crew and manages operations at Land & Wave, a leading outdoor center in Dorset.

We won't charge you for joining us on swims, dips, and walks.

Our staff are qualified and experienced Beach Lifeguards and Open Water Swim Coaches, there are no grandads on kayaks in our crew!
We know we nornally do lunch, but we think you'd like to have the option of lunch out.
Flights and ferries not included, there are flights from most airports and ferries from Poole in Dorset.
Day One: Welcome to Jersey
Check-in from 1 pm, with a pick-up from the airport or St Helier Port around noon. We’ll drop you back after your trip to ensure a smooth return.
Your adventure begins with a safety briefing in the serene gardens, followed by a visit to Le Havre de Pas' tidal pool for a swim clinic. Come prepared with any aspects you'd like to fine-tune with our expert Open Water Swim Coaches.
Afterward, enjoy a wholesome dinner before heading out for a sunset dip at The Splash, a hidden local gem. You’ll have the option to enjoy a drink and a boogie in this incredible setting, making for a perfect end to your first day.
Day Two: Hidden Coves and Crystal Waters
After breakfast, take a leisurely walk to a secluded sandy cove, perfect for a peaceful float or a swim around a mysterious island in crystal-clear waters.
Afterward, head to a local village for lunch, followed by a dip at a remote rocky cove on Jersey’s wild North Coast—a truly breathtaking spot.
Return to the chateau for a wholesome dinner and unwind with a stroll through its beautiful gardens.
Day Three: Sunrise Magic and Coastal Wonders
Start the day with a serene sunrise dip on Jersey’s East Coast, with views stretching over to the French coastline.
Next, visit a remote sandy beach featuring a stunning waterfall, natural arches, and endless golden sands.
For lunch, dine with breath taking views overlooking the bay before embarking on a scenic walk to the iconic La Corbière lighthouse, accessible only at certain tides.
Round off the evening with a delicious final meal, followed by our Tame the Tides talk—an engaging and informal lecture on understanding tides, rips, and waves.
Day Four: Farewell Swim and Sweet Goodbyes
After breakfast, venture out to another secluded cove with the option to swim around a picturesque island—one final dip to round off your retreat.
We’ll ensure you’re returned to your transport hub with a head full of memories and a belly full of homemade cake.
