Kylie
Kylie is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, certified aerial instructor, Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Practitioner, and has over 14 years experience teaching yoga and fitness classes. Kylie’s journey into yoga began after a major back surgery left her in pain and feeling rigid. Through the discipline of yoga, Kylie found freedom from her physical pain, and fell in love with its ability to calm the mind. Her classes are empowering, heartfelt, and accommodating for all levels. Kylie received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Corepower Yoga in 2012 and went on to receive her 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from from School of Yoga Institute in 2019. Outside of her yoga education, Kylie earned her MFA in Writing for the Screen and Television from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. When she’s not practicing yoga, you can find Kylie out in nature, writing.
Troy
Troy is the founder and owner of Shala Yoga & Wellness Services. He is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor and has been actively involved in the health and wellness industry for over 12 years. Troy's physical disciplines began as a young athlete and have carried through to the present day. Along the way, he competed as a collegiate track and field athlete, earned a degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) from the University of Northern Iowa, earned certifications as a USA Weightlifting Coach, ACSM ACSM-certified exercise Physiologist, Certified Wellness Program Coordinator, and of course 200 Hour Yoga Teacher. Troy has prioritized his own physical and mental well-being through all of it. His education and experience in exercise sciences lends greatly to his instruction style with an emphasis on proper physical alignment and safe movements. Troy's classes are accessible for all skill levels, but especially beneficial for those newer to yoga. Outside of yoga, Troy enjoys weight training, sipping a freshly brewed cup of coffee, walking or lounging with his dog, and spending time with loved ones.
Guest Instructor: Indigo Avisov
Indigo Avisov is a yoga sculpt instructor, a Purpose Guide™ and Shamanic Practitioner. Indigo will be leading us through a 1.5 hour soul retrieval workshop, an ancient shamanic practice used to reclaim and return lost power, to support your ability to overcome challenges and improve overall wellbeing.
Chef Cameron Guymon
Known for his bright, lively, and loving personality, Cameron is a chef who believes in the power of food as a medium of joy and wellness. Chef Cam graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, trained and worked under Chef Mark Zeitouni at Narcissa in New York’s East Village and at Shelter Island in the Hamptons. He was awarded 3 Golden Foodie Awards as chef at Sea Legs Wine Bar and as sous chef at Sea Salt Restaurant in Huntington Beach. Chef Cam is currently a chef at a members-only restaurant in Newport Beach. His cooking style is a unique blend of nutritious and soul-soothing flavors, perfectly aligned with your focus on wellness. Cameron’s approach to food is simple yet profound – create dishes that not only please the palate but also nourish the body and soul.
The Menu
Our Southwestern-inspired menu is thoughtfully crafted to complement the
rejuvenation of this yoga retreat, blending the bold flavors of the desert with a focus on
nutrition and balance. You can look forward to simple nourishing breakfasts to start
your day, and citrusy salads, colorful vegetables, and perfectly grilled meats come
sundown. A variety of aqua frescas composed of seasonal fruits and herbs and other
light snacks will keep you fresh and movin' throughout the day.
Gaia Villa is a luxurious property on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, where you can experience the transformative, healing nature of the Mojave Desert. Located in the upscaled residential area of Upper Sky Harbor of Yucca Valley, Gaia Villa offers a peaceful sanctuary with mesmerizing desert views.
Black Rock Canyon Trail is within walking distance from the property. Major grocery stores, shops and restaurants are within a 10 minute drive.

Gaia Villa is located in the upscale residential area of Upper Sky Harbor in the High Desert town of Yucca Valley, and just 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park.
CANCELLATION POLICY. Please note that because retreats hosted by Akash Yoga LLC and Shala Yoga and Wellness Services LLC are limited to a small number of attendees to allow for a more personable, intimate experience, our cancellation policy is in place to help guests and us alike work together sharing expenses that may arise from unexpected cancellations.
1. HOLD DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
2. Full balance due 5 weeks before the start date of the retreat (February 22, 2024).
3. Cancellation requests submitted within 60 days of retreat date, 50% of total amount (less deposit) will be refunded.
4. Within 60 days of your retreat: no refunds given, no exceptions.
5. Any refunds allowed will incur a 3% processing fee.
