We have amazing Instrutors that will inspire you for years to come. Delicious food and snacks, comforatable beds with flannel sheets, to a specacular location in nature.

Our location

High Camp consists of 320 acres surrounded by national forest in the San Juan Mountains, the prettiest in Colorado! The subdivsion rights have been given to The Nature Conservancy.

What's not included

no Wifi or Cell Service

There is no WiFi in the forest or and High Camp but we promise you a better connection!

Travel Insurance

We advise that you get travel insurance because you never know! There is more infromation under Pricing.

High up in the mountains of Colorado, High Camp Hut is a two-story backcountry hut nestled into 320 acres of privately held land sitting in 2 million acres of San Juan National Forest. The hut sits at 11,000 feet above sea level in the San Juan National Forest, with views of Lizardhead, the Wilsons, and Sheep Mountain. Drive 15 miles from Telluride, CO, and access to the Hut is a short 2.5-mile hike, ski, jog, or bike from Hwy 145.
