Visiting Jordan is the kind of trip you plan around the sights - and there's no shortage of sights and return talking about the people! Petra – an entire city carved from reddish sandstone cliffs – is one of the most awe-inspiring archaeological sites in the world. Jersash, Madaba and Nebo – are just a few of the sights that have biblical significance. The Dead Sea and the famous SIQ are archaeological phenomenon that few have been lucky enough to experience.
Jordan’s sandstone temples, sprawling desert terrain, and inspiring history is nothing short of captivating. On this journey, find yourself immersed in a rich culture that stems from remarkable ancient empires and influential religions. Get to know the country’s people and heritage by exploring the capital city of Amman, and then discover the well-preserved Roman ruins of Jerash. Spend time in Petra exploring its magnificent sights, like the intricate Al-Khazneh temple (The Treasury) for the ultimate photo op and round out this incredible trip with a visit to Jesus’ baptism site and day of relaxation at the Dead Sea.
We will explore these photographers dream locales by air-conditioned coach with nationally certified guides and drivers. We have included many of the meals for your convenience and ease of schedule (not too many Chipolte’s in the area) and through ‘The Jordan Pass’ your Travel Visa and most of the entrance fees are covered.
Jordan's desert landscape and strangely familiar names evoke romantic images in the West; here, you can literally walk in the footsteps of Jesus or ride a horse in the desert like Lawrence of Arabia (or Indiana Jones, if you prefer). However, Jordan's most lasting impression always seems to be its warm, welcoming people – come meet the Jordanians and discover their country!
We arrive into Amman and are greeted at the airport by our local guide and driver. (If you are adding this on to the Epic Egypt Escape we will be setting up the flight from Cairo to Amman for you – details soon).
Depending upon the flight arrivals and time permitting, we will venture out for a city tour of Amman. Often referred to as the “White City” because of the white stone used to build houses, Amman offers a contrast between oriental and cosmopolitan. The tour will take you to the museums, the Citadel, the amphitheater, the souks and the modern part of town. We will start to immerse yourself in the culture and learn of the area’s history from our private nationally certified guide.
If time is tight, we will do our best to add some Amman sites on the last day.
Next, we check into our 4 Star hotel.
