About this trip

The purpose of this trip is to provide an opportunity to experience a holistic approach to peace through wellness, development, and empowerment through a yoga lens. 2019 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Genocide Against the Tutsi, where almost one million people were murdered in 100 days. Witness the profound transformation that is taking place in Rwanda and see what they're doing to grow and move beyond incredible trauma.

The Journey to Rwanda aims to not only bring you closer to your true self, but to connect with the people around you. Our retreats connect with the community by utilizing local instructors, guides, and social interactions. We will spend several days at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village for an opportunity to witness profound transformation in action, to learn, and create connections. Through healing, education, and love, the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village empowers orphaned and vulnerable Rwanda youth to build live of dignity and contribute to a better world. Learn | About Sam

Please take into consideration note that this is not a volunteer trip. The greatest service you can do for the world is to examine your own way of being and be embody  that change. This is will be a learning experience and an opportunity to experience how a this society moves beyond suffering for to experience profound transformation.

The greatest impact you can make on this world is by living your most authentic self. When you practice yoga, you practice peace. From this new seat of awareness, we can then go on to support others. The word, other, simply dissolves and thus becomes “we.”
