About this trip

Join Alison Sinatra & Miguel Mendez for a transformational retreat to the Caribbean Coast of Colombia!

We will be spending 6 nights / 7 days out at the gorgeous Gitana Del Mar retreat center, located on a wild and remote beach just 15 minutes from the energetically charged Parque Tayrona, home of the Kogi tribe.

This retreat is for the seeker. Alison and Miguel are spirit family and believe in deep healing through movement, meditation, ritual and joy. All of our work will be nourished by being near our Mother Ocean, eating locally sourced food by Gitana’s fantastic chef, and staying on Sacred land.

In addition to daily yoga and healing offerings with Alison and Miguel, this retreat also includes an all levels group hiking and swimming excursion to the nearby Valencia Waterfall with natural pools, as well as a fire ceremony with Kogi tribe members. The Kogis are the indigenous people of the area, and are wisdom holders of the Sacred relationship between humans and Pacha Mama.

This retreat will be transformative on all levels.

Reserve your spot now with a $500 non-refundable deposit.  The balance is due 120 days prior to trip departure, and can be broken up into multiple payments if you email info@solseedretreats.com to request a payment plan.

Flight Parameters

You will be flying into and out of Simón Bolívar International Airport (airport code: SMR). Your retreat start date is October 12th, and your retreat end date is October 18th.

We will be arranging airport transfers for you from SMR airport in Santa Marta, Colombia to Gitana del Mar retreat center (about 1.5 hours away).

If you do not want to miss the first day of the retreat, I would suggest booking flights that arrive in the morning, as the retreat will kick off with a lunch around 1:30pm and an opening practice that evening followed by dinner.

There are lots of great flight options to SMR from both Boston and NYC on Avianca, so check that airline first.

DEPARTURE DAY!

For all flights on departure day, October 18th, we would suggest NOT booking flights that depart prior to 9am. We will see how flight bookings go, but the earliest departure we'd want to schedule from Gitana that morning would be a 5:30am shuttle, which would get you to SMR airport at 7am, in time to make a 9 or 9:30am flight on 10/18.

Reviews

We had an awesome time. Everything from the hostel, food and excursions were great. Janelle, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. She even took a group for a morning run along the water and offered some history tidbits along the way!
The retreat was fantastic, Jessie and Laura were wonderful retreat leaders who really took into account the groups vibe and edited the days based on that. Extremely enjoyable experience that I would 100% do again. The retreat home was also lovely and very easy to work with. They took great care of us and fed us SO well, amazing breakfast and dinners and super kind staff. If you're thinking of doing a retreat, do it- you won't regret it!!!!
I had such an amazing vacation traveling with Steph and Jamie to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. They put tremendous thought into planning our daily fitness sessions together, and managed to incorporate movement, meditation and a sense of community into every class. The hotel at Lomas de Tzununa was beautiful and accommodating, and the food was simple and delicious. I cannot think of a better tribe than Hustle and Flow to travel with, and would definitely accompany Steph and Jamie on another fitness adventure! Thank you both so much!!!
I had a great time. This is my second trip with Kelsey and Solseed. The group had the entire guesthouse to ourselves, which really made it feel like family. Fresh, healthy meals cooked to order everyday. The staff at the guesthouse Friends to Be was superb. Our tour guides were born and raised in Columbia, and there was a sense of pride during the information shared during the different tours. Janel was always available for any suggestions. I always felt safe, even if alone for short walks during the day. Though this area is very much considered a city, I was able to pet a sloth and feed monkeys in the local park! The boat ride excursions to the islands were an adventure for sure. Kelsey's yoga classes were exceptional, designed in a way to offer something for all levels of practice. I met people from Denver, Idaho, Maine and New Hampshire, I reconnected with 2 friends from the trip to Guatemala last year as well. I can't explain the feeling after one of these trips, you will just have to experience one yourself! Thank you, Kristin and Ian for putting your heart into creating these adventures.
