Chitlang is a VDC located in Makwanpur District, Narayani Zone, CDR, and Nepal. Chitlang is an ancient Newar settlement where inscriptions dating back to the Lichchavi era have been found. Chitlang is approximately at a distance of 27 km from Kathmandu. Chitlang has also been called the organic village of Nepal. Still following the old traditions and customs, Chitlang village has slowly promoted itself and has offered Homestay for those who still want to feel the rural life of Nepal. The trip to Chitlang offers many features such as the hike to Chandragiri temple, the organic farm, the goat cheese factory, roaming around the farmlands, boating in Indra Sarovar Lake, and others.

You will be picked up from your hotel and travel to Thankot which is about 1hr drive from Thamel. From Thankot, you will start your hike towards the southern hill by the old walking path to/from Hetauda and Kathmandu with your guide. On the way, you will pass through the rhododendron forest, and from the top, you can have a bird's eye view of the Kathmandu Valley and its surrounding hills. From the top, the trail is straight downward to Chitlang. On reaching Chitlang, you will notice the artistic and cultural blends of its local inhabitants surrounded by the green hills have created a place of charm and beauty.
