About this trip

Join Lisa Love Hall and Elise Marie Collins to experience the life-changing magic of yoga and mindfulness. Cultivate greater self-awareness and stress-reducing skills as you slow down together as a family and attune with nature on this unique weekend Family Yoga Nature Retreat with beach access. Spend time together practicing yoga & mindfulness in the beautiful Marin Headlands at the YMCA Point Bonita while letting someone else do all of the cooking. Parents will also have the opportunity to enjoy some kid-free time on Saturday during a retreat-led activity. Invite your friends and extended family! All family forms welcome and included! We look forward to sharing our love of yoga and nature with you!

Do you crave calm for your family?

Hit reset and come to the beautiful Marin Headlands at the YMCA Point Bonita to practice yoga and revel in the awe and wonder of Mother Nature. Leave unwanted stress behind and see life from a new perspective of love, joy and gratitude. Strengthening family bonds will benefit all family members across the life course. Gather around the campfire to make s’mores, laugh and share what’s most important about life – good times!

How can yoga help our family?

Learning yoga poses and mindfulness practices can help you become aware of your physical and emotional needs so you can mindfully respond to stressful situations with greater ease. And practicing on a daily basis can help you understand how your stress response works and how to moderate it, both individually and as a family, helping you develop greater compassion for each other. This compassion also expands out into the world and your community. Make family yoga a part of your life.

Why is being out in nature so healthy?

Being in nature is deeply beneficial to your overall health and well-being. As our very own Retreat Leader, Elise Marie Collins, stated in her new book, Super Ager, “spending time at the beach, in the mountains, or by a lake slows the mind and feeds the heart’s furnace. Nature seems to envelop and observe with compassion our individual suffering, caress it, and release it to the wind, sweeping it away so we can be still and be held by the penultimate and ultimate Mother – Earth.”

Additionally, as Wallace J. Nichols states in his book, Blue Mind, “recent studies showed that feeling connected to nature led to greater feelings of awe, vitality, purpose, and more positive emotions overall.” And another recent study indicated “the current research indicates that there is real, measurable cognitive advantage to be realized if we spend time truly immersed in a natural setting.”

Can special diets be accommodated?

Yes! Please notify us of your dietary needs via email or on the registration form. All special dietary needs must be received by April 18, 2019 in order to ensure adequate time for inclusion.

Are children age 4 and under free?

Yes! Children age 4 and under are free so please keep this in mind when you are booking your retreat package.
