About this trip

We’ll  retreat to a beautiful, remote cabin in nature on Lake Atitlan to sit  with the warrior frog, Kambo, for three consecutive days.

Your Stay Will Include:

  • 3 Kambo ceremonies (known as an "inoculation")
  • On call support from your Kambo practitioners during the retreat
  • All meals (two meals a day, participants will be fasting in the morning)
  • 4 nights lodging
  • Group transportation to the cabin from San Marcos
  • Access to the entire property and garden

The Space:

We'll  stay in a stunning A-frame cabin located on the southern shore of  spectacular lake Atitlán, within walking distance to the town and hill  of Cerro de Oro (hill of gold).

The space is large, open, cozy  and warm. There are 2 full bathrooms, a den,juice/tea bar and  apothecary, large living room with a central fireplace and sound system,  a fully stocked kitchen and dining area, playroom, ping pong table and  sleeping areas with balconies in the interior of the house.

On  the outside there is a large lawn with lake access as well as herbal,  medicinal, food and flower gardens. The terraced, lake-side garden  includes a picnic table, hammocks, sunning chairs and a rowboat to enjoy  the lake.

Ceremony  will begin in the morning each day giving you ample time each afternoon and evening to enjoy everything the space has to offer.

Kambo  is NOT A JOKE.

It is a powerful spirit best approached with great respect. Kambo is regarded as an “ordeal medicine” and with good reason.  We want to be perfectly clear that the experience, while lasting only  20-40 minutes, is quite intense, and not for anyone simply looking for  another experiential notch on the belt, so to speak.

As  one works with Kambo, they often find that surrendering to the process  allows them to release significant energetic, emotional and mental  blockages.  Sometimes, as one learns to surrender to the process and  Kambo, the once uncomfortable process can become surprisingly pleasant.

You will be refunded all payments made in excess of your initial deposit. Your deposit will be applied as a credit to use toward future Wild Within trips and offerings.

Travel insurance

There are two main reasons we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip:

1) Travel insurance provides financial protection in the event you must cancel due to personal injury or illness, unexpected scheduling conflicts, the health or death of loved ones, job changes, and other reasons. Cancellations are a lose-lose-lose situation: for you, for us, and for the group (which will miss out on your wildness).

2)  Travel insurance provides supplementary medical insurance in the case you are injured or become ill during your trip.

We strongly encourage that you purchase travel insurance, especially if you must fly to the trip location and we require you to have travel insurance that includes coverage for medical emergency for Wild Within trips conducted outside the U.S.

Here’s a few travel insurance companies where you can purchase travel insurance for your trip:

We believe the greatest adventure of all is in living our one wild life—the life that is entirely our own and has been waiting for us since we were born. Wild Within was founded to help you step into that life. We support those on this journey through retreats, gatherings, courses and workshops. We draw upon the healing and transformative power of community, the wilderness, the journey and a wide range of ancient traditions and modern teachings to aid those who hear the call of the Wild Within.

Kambo was genuinely inspiring. Alasdair and Julie-Roxanne are incredible facilitators and guide you through the experience with immense love, care, and compassion so that you always feel safe. There are no other facilitators that I trust more than Alasdair and Julie-Roxanne.

This retreat was fantastic. For my first time being out of the country, it was the perfect experience to guide me into international travel gently. I have met the most incredible people and made the best connections during this trip. The location was picture perfect, and the food was delicious. Alasdair and Kelly have such a way of welcoming you in with open arms and providing you with the best experiences ever while on their retreats. This retreat was the perfect way to start the new year with a fresh slate. From the geologist-guided hike and local cooking class to the New Year's Eve ecstatic dance party, there's no other retreat I would've wanted to be on during this time!

I and my husband had wonderful experience during our trip to Guatemala with Wild Within. It was a journey thru our Souls. I would love to go on more trips organized by Wild Within.

If I had only one chance to see Yosemite National Park in my lifetime, the experience I had with The Wild Within would be the only one I'd need to satisfy my yearning for adventure. The whole time I felt like I was immersed in a story - a novel that was written by someone or something else and I was a character with an arc and a role throughout the entirety of the trek. Kelly and Alasdair are masterful at creating space for deep self-exploration, with "noble silences", breathwork, meditation exercises, as well as introspective thought prompts each day. Even though I decided to take most of my own backpacking gear, everything was supplied by Wild Within including the most delicious backcountry meals I've had to date (prepared by the lovely Julie Roxanne <3). While it is true that the landscape, the views, and the terrain does a lot of the work for the leaders, it takes a tremendous amount of time, research, and reconnaissance to develop and execute an excursion of this degree - and it was executed to impeccable standards. From Starting at Tuolumne Meadows to sleeping beneath the sheer granite faces of Wildcat Point to making "Turtle Valley" our little family home for 36+ hours, the route was perfect. It offered something for everyone - the novice, the thrill-seeker (approaching Clouds Rest), and the tree hugger (sleeping amongst the majestic Ponderosa Pines) alike. I have zero regrets about my decision to join The Wild Within on this incredible journey they've crafted. I can only wait now until the opportunity to be able to do something more challenging, deeper, and even more rewarding next time. Thank you Kelly, Alasdair, Julie Roxanne, Lou, and our Turtle Valley Family for opening my soul to such a loving and fulfilling experience.

Always a stimulating read and conversation with the Wild Within leadership and participants. Although each book can stand alone on its merits, the connection between previous books emerges as we gain a better understanding of ourselves and the world around us. A very welcoming and accepting crowd shows up consistently and restores the beauty of reading and talking our way into deeper understandings. Everyone is honored and invited to freely share with skilled monitoring to assure all voices are heard. I highly recommend this group if you are looking for deeper ways to connect and grow.
