About this trip

Kapawi Eco-lodge's 7-night trip itinerary runs Monday-Monday or Friday-Friday. This travel experience allows our guests to customize their experience, with activities ranging from wildlife, birdwatching, relaxed or hard-core adventures, hiking and paddling, fishing, and cultural immersion. Our 7-night program allows our guests and visitors to spend 1 full week in the Achuar territory, which provides enough time to include more natural and cultural activities in their travel itinerary, with the option of spending one night in one of the neighboring Achuar communities, or visit more than one community. Sometimes it is not necessary to leave the ecolodge to enjoy the Amazon Rainforest, or the Achuar culture!! Our 7-night travel experience also allows our guests and visitors to have more time to relax at the ecolodge, enjoy the sounds of the forest, observe wildlife on site, or go swimming or kayaking in the Capahuari river right from our dock.

Our family of 5 (3 kids ages 9, 12, 14) stayed for about 6 days over the New Year. Our stay was incredible! Because the resort is owned by an indigenous Amazonian tribe (with experienced naturalists/biologists on the tours), a stay at this resort is incredibly genuine in its feel. I was previously at a lodge on the Brazilian side but this felt so much nicer and truer. The cabins are beautiful, the food was wonderful and the whole experience felt like a once in a lifetime almost other worldly experience. We had so much fun, we learned/ experienced/ saw so much. I would highly highly recommend going to Kapawi. Also, the manager helped us with transportation on the remainder of our trip throughout Ecuador. Thank you!!

The accommodations, food, and guide were excellent. We learned so much about the rainforest environment and the local indigenous culture. We did numerous jungle walks where our guide Edwin taught us about the plants, many of which are medicinal and/or edible and he demonstrated how the vines and bark of some are used by the local Achuar people. We saw numerous birds, monkeys, and pink dolphins. I would recommend this trip to anyone!

Magical. Loved the whole experience. Going into the communities and sharing stories was a highlight. Pottery with the women. Waterfall and conversations with the Shaman was fantastic. Jungle walks- loved them all. All the birds and wild life we saw, including the boa constrictor...guides were so knowledgeable and wonderful, generous folks
