Bouddhanath Stupa

Asian Adventure Trips offers a guided day trip to Bouddhanath Stupa. The tour gives you an opportunity to explore Nepal’s rich cultural heritage site in Kathmandu, which is also enlisted by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as world heritage site.
The tour is targeted for visitors who are enthusiastic to learn about Nepal’s Cultural Heritage in the day trip. We are introduced to one of world’s most amazing and architecturally excellent structures of the capital city that bears cultural and historical importance.

The 36-m. tall giant Stupa is the main attraction of the day tour. The stupa, which was affected by the April 25th Quake, has already been reconstructed and stands tall to represent one of the largest stupas in the valley. Even today, those who believe in Buddhism as a religion or like the philosophy spent their day long time in Stupa periphery.

Activities in the day tour includes an option to specifically visit the Boudhanath site in a day long package or combine the sightseeing destination with other nearby sights like Pashupatinath Temple. Either way, you can enjoy an amazing experience around the stupa walking and exploring the surroundings. Boudhanath area is also popular for rich collection of traditional Thanka paintings, handicrafts and sculptures, making it an amazing choice for souvenir shopping. Furthermore, you can also take participate in the religious chanting of “Mantra” with the Buddhist monks. While combined with other sights, the best time to visit Boudhanath Stupa is late afternoon until late evening. You are suggested to stroll clockwise direction round the monument while exploring. Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the three major Durbar square areas in the valley. Also enlisted as the UNESCO’s world heritage sites, it is a beautiful sightseeing destinations standing among others in Kathmandu valley. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is primarily famous for its historical monuments and amazing art and culture represented in the palaces and temples in the durbar square area.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is extensive in area than the other two durbar squares in the valley, Kathmandu and Patan. Main Attractions in the Bhaktapur Durbar Square area are Five storied Nyata-Pole Temple, Golden Gate, Taleju Temple and the infamous 55 window temple / palace.
Bhaktapur is a city away from the hassles and crowd of the Kathmandu. The city is the home to the ethnic newar community. The community is untouched from modern civilization which has preserved its language, culture and traditional values. From rich cultural background, an authentic community and monuments, temples and palaces, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square area is one of the most engaging destinations in the valley. The art, woodcarvings and statues in the durbar square area along with pottery village makes it one of the most recommended destinations in the valley. Patan Durbar Square with Bungmati and Khokana

Sightseeing in Patan Durbar square gives you an opportunity to explore Nepal’s rich cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu, which are enlisted by UNESCO as world heritage sites.

The tour is targeted for visitors who have one day extra time for a short trip around Kathmandu valley. We are introduced to world’s most amazing architecturally excellent structures of the capital city that bears cultural and historical importance. Major attractions in the tour include Krishna Mandir/Temple, Patan Museum. Each site carrying rich historical and cultural importance, gives us an informative and enjoyable tour.

The Locals are also Newar and have their own Newari language. Most of the people are busy with their Metal-Work. You can observe how they make the metal statue and jewelry while walking through the city.

On the occasion of birthday of Lord Krishna, in August -September is celebrated by Hindus at the Krishna Temple in Patan. Devotees gather at the Krishna Temple in Patan Durbar Square for a vigil through the night. The following day, the devotees visit all the Krishna shrines throughout the city.

After Patan Durbar Square, we move towards a typical Newari village in Bungmati-Khokana. Not so far away from the city, you have opportunities to explore an example of living museum. Most of the locals are still busy in farming. The Machhendra Nath Temple is notable in this place. While discovering the village, you can see live how locals are busy in their daily life even its not so far from the city.

The village has hundreds of masters wood carver and sculpture producers and we can still fine some people busy in wood carving.

Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swyambhunath Stupa

Also known as “Hanumandhoka Durbar Square” locally, the sightseeing destination is not so far from Thamel. Kathmandu Durbar Square is just 10 min far from Thamel on foot. The infamous Living Goddess, Kumari’s residence, the KUMARI HOUSE is also notable spot to visit in Kathmandu Durbar Square area.

Although the Kathmandu Durbar Square was damaged in its major landmarks, after devastating April quake, the reconstruction is in progress and the UNESCO world heritage site is open to welcome its visitors.

Our destinations today then follows to Swayambhunath stupa, also a site listed in UNESCO world heritage that bear cultural, traditional and architectural wonders. Swyambhunath Stupa is also popularly known as Monkey Temple. The stupa itself lies on the top of a small hill. Either you walk 365 stairs up to Stupa or drive by bus/car to the Stupa. The Stupa is itself like a view tower. You can have a good view of Kathmandu valley and if the weather allows, you have a opportunities to see some mountains at the edge of Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath is also a representation of religious harmony in Nepal as both Buddhist Stupa and a Hindu temple stands together in same premises.
