Starting Monday, our journey departs early from St. Charles. Cycling 45 miles west to Treloar, we’ll pass Defiance, famed for Daniel Boone’s wise judgments beneath the Judgment Tree. In Treloar, a shuttle awaits to transport riders to our overnight stop of Hermann, a wine heritage site voted “best small city for a weekend getaway” by AAA. This bohemian river town boasts historic B&Bs and hotels, with over 150 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, along with a diverse range of antique stores and specialty shops.
Tuesday’s leg is a brisk 47-mile pedal to Tebbets. From there we shuttle to our overnite stay in Jefferson City, the charming capitol of Missouri. Founded in 1839, this picturesque town offers a blend of wineries, parks, museums, and historical sites. While exploring Jefferson City, do not miss the opportunity to admire the remarkable artwork gracing the Missouri state capitol building. These captivating pieces contribute to the city’s rich cultural tapestry, providing a unique and enriching experience for visitors.
Wednesday the tour will spin another 47 miles from Tebbets to Rocheport, the newest edition of the tour where we will overnite in a town everybody loves. Selected BnBs in Rocheport are some of the best in Missouri has to offer and you’ll wake up to a home cooked breakfast for champions. We will also have a gourmet meal at a local haunt, the 2025 edition of this tour is really good folks! Many say the scenery around Rhineland is the gem of the ride, where the Missouri river is vast and fast.
On Thursday, the group pedals 50 miles through Boonville and ends at our host hotel in Sedalia. The group will spend the night in the historic town center at the Hotel Bothwell. It was opened in 1927 and is rumored to have a ghost or two keeping an eye on the elegant rooms. Sedalia was incorporated in 1860 and boomed along with the railroad. Earlier, Osage and Shawnee tribes also called the area home. Dinner and breakfast will be served in the hotel’s dining room.
The final stretch, Friday, rolls 35 miles to Clinton to the conclusion of the ride. Highlights include the MKT 206 caboose, where sadly we’ll snap our tour’s final group photo. Once you finish the ride, we will provide a shower option, as well as a light lunch. Riders will then be shuttled back to St Charles and typically we arrive around 4pm.
