• Fly into Maasai Mara (You need to pack a carryon bag, no more than 33 LBS, for 3 nights.  Other luggage will be left at the Sarova in Nariobi.  You will get very dusty on safari, so do not plan to wear nice clothes.  Bring layers it will be chilly)
• Masi Mara Game Reserve- Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.

1.  Lake Nakuru Game drive - 

Lake Nakuru National Park is situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, covering an area of 188 km (116 miles) surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. Nakuru means “Dust” or “Dusty Place” in the Maasai language. Visitors to the park can enjoy a wide variety of habitats and ecological diversity that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. The Park was created in 1961 around Lake Nakuru, and is best known for its thousands of flamingos that nest along its shores. The lake is fairly shallow, and its surface is often almost completely obliterated by a shifting mass of pink flamingos. The abundance of algae in the lake attracts vast numbers of flamingos to gather and feed around the shore.  and is ideal not only for bird watching, but more so for game drives, as well as hiking and picnics. Lake Nakuru National Park started off as a very small protected area, only including the famous lake and a part of the surrounding mountainous neighborhood, but now also include a large part of the savannahs. The park has recently been enlarged partly in an effort to provide a sanctuary for the rhino, including the critically endangered black rhino. around the lake is fenced off as a sanctuary for the protection of giraffes as well as both black and white rhino. This fence was necessitated not to restrict the movement of wildlife, but to keep out poachers. The park also houses a number of predators like lion, cheetah and leopard, the latter seemingly increasing in numbers over recent times too.  In the dense woodlands of the park some large sized pythons can be found and are often seen while they are crossing the roads or are dangling from trees.

Hell’s Gate National Park is located in the southern part of Kenya just northwest of Nairobi. The National Park encompasses an area of 26.35 square miles (68.25 sq km).  Hell’s Gate borders the sister Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is only 56 miles (90 km) from Nairobi sitting at an elevation of 6,200 feet (1,900 m) above sea level.  Hell’s Gate Gorge is the main attraction and basis for the park’s name.  Red walled cliffs travel along the gorge and feature two volcanic rock formations known as Fischer’s Tower and Central Tower. The park is famous for its natural hot geysers, eagle and vulture breeding grounds. Visitors have the choice of driving, walking, cycling and rock-climbing within the park. The Park is home to African buffalos, zebras, elands, hartebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, baboons and over 100 bird species including vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards and swifts. Rare lammergeier vultures, as well as the Chandler’s Mountain reedbuck and the klipspringer antelope also call the park home.

Boat Ride in Lake Naivasha which is a home to scores of birds, and also has its share of land and water animals such as buffalos, zebras, elands, impalas, waterbucks and other grazers, as well as a favorite place for hippos to cool themselves during the day.

• City Tour - with Market - Additional Cost - Nairobi Walking City Tour includes a walking Safari in Nairobi central business district with expert Guide where you have ample time for close photography.  You will visit a local market where you can bargain and shop for arts and crafts etc, visit Parliament buildings, Kenyatta International Conference Centre. A tour to the top of Kenyatta International Conference (28 Government Building with 28 stories) to look at Nairobi skyline can be arranged.   Walking through the city streets  provides plenty of opportunity to mingle with the locals as they go about their daily lives.

• Tea Farm - Additional Cost - Kiambethu Tea Farm Day Tour in Limuru (Tour Duration: Half Day) On your arrival at the Kiambethu Tea Estate, you will be guests for lunch and afternoon tea. The Kiambethu Estate is located at an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level, in a truly magnificent garden with views of the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngong hills and has lush acres of tea plantations that seem to vanish in the horizon.  Two English families, Mitchell & McDonnell in the early 1900’s, built the Estate. These families are said to be the first to have ventured into the tea business. You will also have a lecture on the area and about the production of tea. In the afternoon, a walk through the tea plantations and forests will display the conditions needed for the growth of tea. The lecture on growth of tea is a good learning experience. For instance, you will see tea pickers on the farm plucking the top two leaves and bud from each plantation. Tea needs good rainfall, which is plenty in the region so tea is picked all year round. After the tea is picked, they are sent to the factories to be processed and sold to local and export markets. Kenya is the third largest producer of tea after Sri Lanka and India. Return to the city arriving at 5.30pm. 
• Mt. Longonot Hike - Additional Cost- Tough 8 mile hike- (please read description form previous travelers in the Network and then select either option 1 or Option 2) Mt Longonot is just less than 9100 feet above sea level with a tree filled interior and a lonesome steam vent to the northeast. A climb up Mount Longonot is an ideal day trip from either Nairobi or Naivasha. Best time to visit / travel is the months of January to April and from September to December.  Mount Longonot Day Trip hiking Safari departs daily from Nairobi after breakfast and the drive takes approximately an hour. You start the assent at 6000 feet. Like all good uphill hikes it will lull you in to a sense of false security with a slow gentle rise to the first peak.
