The Khayar Lake Trek is a relatively new trekking destination located in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It was only recently opened to the public by the government. This trek offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain ranges, including Annapurna South, Annapurna III and IV, Himchuli, and Machhapuchhre, as well as the beautiful Khayar Lake at an elevation of 4827 meters. The trek also takes you through the communities of Gurung, Magar, and Tamang, allowing you to experience their unique traditional lifestyles and cultures. As you trek through the region, you'll also be able to enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding paddy fields and mountain ranges.

KATHMANDU TO POKHARA (822m/2,696ft)
After being picked up from your hotel by our guide, you will set off toward Pokhara, located about 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. During the drive, you can take in the breathtaking views of rivers and landscapes. Upon arriving in Pokhara, you will check into your hotel and have some time to rest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Pokhara's lakeside area and Phewa lake's banks.

POKHARA TO TIKHEDHUNGA (1,480m/4,855ft) VIA NAYAPUL
In the morning, you will check out of the hotel and then travel by car to Nayapul. From there, the trek begins, with Tikhedhunga as the first destination. The trail is easy, with mostly smooth ascending to Tikhedhunga.

TIKHEDHUNGA TO GHOREPANI (3,210m/10,531ft)
We will begin our trek from Tikhedhunga, making our way up the steep steps of Ulleri. These steps can be quite challenging, so take your time as you make your way through villages and streams. As you continue on the trail, you will catch your first glimpse of the Himalayan mountain range. The path will then take you through a beautiful rhododendron forest and lead you to Ghorepani. We will spend the night at a local lodge.

GHOREPANI TO SWATA VILLAGE VIA POON HILL (3,210m/10,531ft)
We will start our trek to Poon Hill early in the morning to see the sunrise. The view from Poon Hill is stunning, with the culturally rich villages set against the majestic mountains bathed in the first light of the day. After taking in the sunrise, we will return to Ghorepani for breakfast before setting off for Swata village. The trail takes us through dense rhododendron forests for about 4 hours, and we will arrive at Swata village in the late morning.

SWATA VILLAGE TO KHOBRA DANDA
Today is a challenging day as we will be ascending more than 1500 meters. We will leave Swata village and follow a steep path that takes us through beautiful landscapes and gorges. As we make our way up the mountain, we will have the opportunity to enjoy stunning views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Machhapuchhre. After trekking for 5 to 6 hours, we will reach Khobra Danda.

KHOBRA DANDA TO KHAYAR BASE CAMP (4,620m/15,157ft)
Today is the day we will reach our main destination. After departing from Khobra Danda, we will make our way to Khayar Base Camp. The journey to Khayar Base Camp can be difficult due to the high altitude, and it will take approximately 4 to 5 hours to get there.

Today, we will be retracing our steps back to Khobra Danda. The trek back will take approximately 4 to 5 hours, and the trail is surrounded by beautiful scenery.
