This island is the furthest south and most famous for its waved albatross community. The community is found on the island from late March to early December, one of the most incredible sea birds found on the Galapagos. It's worth planning your trip around the time this bird will be on the islands.

There are two visitor sites on the island: Punta Suarez and Gardner Bay. Getting off on the western side of the island, you're met by a colony of breeding marine iguanas, bright red and ready to go! The 2-km trail leads through colonies of blue-footed boobies and masked-boobies to a blowhole. The waves force the water up through this hole, up to twenty meters in the air. It's best to go in the morning during high tide, because if you go later on, you might not get a chance to see the water blow out so high.

Gardner Bay, on the eastern side of the island, has some great rocks for snorkeling and a beautiful beach for resting and sea lion watching. White-tipped sharks, puffer fish, and colorful tropical fish fill the waters around Gardner Bay.

Visitor Sites: Gardner Bay, Punta Suarez

It should be noted that the conditions are different every day, so the animals that can be seen will vary.

JOSELO I’m originally from the Galapagos. My family is mostly composed by fishermen. This is the reason why I learned to dive when I was 11 years old. After finishing my studies I started working on the diving fishery industry for five years. Here I had the opportunity to dive in all Galapagos amazing spots. In 2003 I started working with the Galapagos National Park in the Marine Reserve department where I was enrolled as research diver and captain for 10 years. Me lifetime dream was to own and run my proper dive center. Dream

Experience of a Lifetime with Blue Evolution in Galapagos Our recent snorkeling trip to Kicker Rock with Blue Evolution in the Galapagos Islands was phenomenal. Their communication was excellent from the outset, ensuring a smooth and well-prepared adventure. Blue Evolution ensured we were comfortably fitted with top-quality gear. On this trip - a mix of divers and snorkelers, individuals from different dive shops combined on a large catamaran that was a luxurious base for our excursion, generously stocked with an abundance of delicious food and refreshing drinks. What made this experience exceptional was the expertise of our guide, John. His knowledge and passion for marine life added an enriching layer to our adventure. John not only assisted us but also provided captivating insights into the diverse array of fish we encountered, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the ecosystem. The bonus of our trip came when the boat captain spotted a group of boobies feeding nearby. His decision to investigate led us to a mesmerizing scene—a feeding frenzy involving pelicans, boobies, black-tipped sharks, and playful sea lions. Witnessing this natural spectacle up close was surreal. Blue Evolution's seamless coordination, quality equipment, knowledgeable guide, and serendipitous encounter with Galapagos wildlife made this snorkeling trip an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Evolution to anyone seeking an extraordinary adventure in the Galapagos Islands—they're masters at creating unforgettable memories amidst nature's wonders.
