Join Us for the 2026 Africa Volun-tourism Lacrosse Coaching Trip

Embark on an incredible journey with Signature Foundation to Africa (Uganda & Kenya), where you’ll have the opportunity to coach, develop, and empower over 300 local children through lacrosse. In partnership with Kids Lacrosse Africa, this volunteer experience blends hands-on coaching with cultural immersion, providing life-changing support and skills development for the youth of Jinja City, Uganda.
Coaching & Development: Spend days on the field coaching lacrosse, sharing your passion, and making a direct impact on young players. Your mentorship will equip local children with new skills, teamwork strategies, and confidence.
Cultural Engagement: Beyond lacrosse, engage in a fully immersive cultural experience. You’ll connect with the local community, visit local schools, host meals for the community, explore Jinja's vibrant scenery (including many excursions around the Nile River), and learn about Uganda's rich heritage.
Safari Experience in Masai Mara National Park, Kenya: This year’s safari experience takes us to Masai Mara National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Known for its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife, Masai Mara is home to lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and the famous Great Migration. This unforgettable safari provides an awe-inspiring look at Africa’s natural beauty and biodiversity.
Marine Park & Beach Experience – Diani Beach, Kenya: The 2026 trip concludes with time along the Kenyan coast in Diani. Volunteers will unwind at the pristine beaches and explore the nearby marine parks, known for turquoise waters, coral reefs, and diverse marine life. This coastal experience offers a restorative close to an impactful journey.

We will be covering a lot of ground: multiple cities, safaris, national parks, excursions, and so much more. Transportation is coordinated on your behalf. All domestic travel is included.
The trip fees cover flights from Uganda to Kenya and domestic flights within Kenya. These total to about an $800 USD value.
Travel between Nairobi and Mombasa on Kenya’s modern high-speed train, offering a comfortable, scenic ride through national parks, open savannah, and coastal landscapes.
We will spend a majority of time providing lacrosse instruction to players and coaches through clinics & cultural events
Spend meaningful time in local Ugandan schools and communities alongside Kids Lacrosse Africa, building relationships, sharing meals, and empowering youth through sport, education, and connection.

Experience Jinja on a quad ATV excursion, riding through local villages, dirt roads, and scenic trails near the Nile for an adrenaline-filled adventure and authentic look at daily life.
Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park is a protected marine reserve off Kenya’s coast, known for crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, dolphins, and vibrant snorkeling among diverse marine life.

Dinner & Cultural Briefing
Day 1 begins with breakfast at the hotel before gathering for an introductory coaches planning session, where volunteers meet the Kids Lacrosse Africa coaches for the first time and align on the clinics, games, and training we’ll deliver throughout the week.
After sharing lunch together, the afternoon brings adventure with ziplining along the Nile in the Mabira Forest.
The evening includes dinner with KLA coaches, followed by a welcoming movie night at the Volunteer House, offering our first opportunity to meet and connect with the local kids.
We kick off our day with a delicious breakfast and the hotel and then head to the Kids Lacrosse Africa Fields!
We are on the field from 9-12PM -- Leading clinics for players, sharing education with the coaches, and connecting cultures through lacrosse. We use the donations (included in your trip fee) to provide lunch for all 300 Kids Lacrosse Africa players and coaches.
We then cool off by tubing on the Nile River. After some splashing around, we meet for dinner, and then gather around the campfire to close out a busy day.
The day starts with breakfast before heading to the field for a Kids Lacrosse Africa clinic and games, where volunteers coach, mentor, and compete alongside local athletes.
After sharing lunch with the KLA community, the afternoon brings adventure with a quad ATV excursion along the Nile River.
The evening continues with a joint dinner alongside seven local coaches, followed by games and a campfire experience with the local coaches, creating space for storytelling, connection, and cultural exchange.
Today we start in the water: We kickoff with a half day of rafting on the Nile and end our excursion with some lunch. Feeling refreshed, we hit the Kids Lacrosse Africa field for an afternoon of more clinics, lacrosse games, and time spent in the Community.
After dinner, we walk into town to support a local nonprofit ice cream shop, which is an all-inclusive employer, specializing in providing opportunities for people who are deaf. This is Uganda's first sign-language ice cream shop!
Today we are spending the day visiting the KLA-partnered schools, and the students there! Volunteers go into the schools, learn about the education system, and teach a lesson/ play games with the students.
We also visit the families of Kids Lacrosse Africa with children in the Sponsorship Program. This means that KLA & Signature Foundation are sponsoring these children for education, meals, and lacrosse. We hear the stories of these families and learn about the impact of the program. We then host these families for a dinner!!
Begin the day with breakfast before visiting local lacrosse families and schools, gaining a deeper understanding of daily life and the impact of sport within the community.
After lunch, volunteers lead a coaches clinic for KLA Coaches, focused on skill development, leadership, and long-term growth. The day concludes with dinner alongside local coaches, strengthening relationships and continuing meaningful conversations off the field.
Today we say goodbye to Jinja and head to our next part of the trip: Safari-land! We fly from Entebbe to Nairobi (this flight is included in your trip enrollment).
Upon arrival, we have lunch, check into our hotel, and then head out to the Giraffe Center, which is a sanctuary that allows you to get up close and personal with giraffes.

Guided by expert local safari guides, you’ll explore the reserve on daily game drives, learning about the delicate ecosystems, conservation efforts, and cultural significance of the region. The Masai Mara is also famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in one of nature’s most remarkable spectacles.
Experience one of the world’s most iconic wildlife destinations with a safari in Masai Mara National Park, Kenya’s premier game reserve. Known for its sweeping savannahs and remarkable concentration of wildlife, the Masai Mara offers unforgettable encounters with lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest in their natural habitat.
For those who choose, the experience can begin with an optional sunrise hot air balloon safari, floating quietly above the plains as the landscape comes alive with the morning light. From the air, you’ll witness herds moving across the savannah, rivers winding through the reserve, and the vastness of the ecosystem from a truly unique perspective—followed by a traditional bush breakfast upon landing.
Travel from the savannah to the sea as the group journeys to Diani, Kenya’s renowned coastal paradise.
We will take a domestic flight, which is included in your trip fees.
This transition marks a shift in pace, offering time to relax, reflect, and recharge after days of service and safari. Upon arrival, settle in along the white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, setting the stage for marine exploration, beach time, and a restorative close to the journey.
Begin the day with breakfast before transferring to the marine park in Diani, where you’ll check in and spend time exploring the coastal environment. After lunch, return to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon, followed by dinner together in the evening—closing the day with reflection, connection, and coastal calm.
Today we depart, we take the Mombasa train back to Nairobi to prepare to leave East Africa.

As we take a look back on the trip, we provided lunches for over 200 locals, we hosted community dinners, we connected to different cultures through lacrosse, we supported local nonprofits, we supported local tourism (and used a local touring company for all domestic logistics). We participated in multiple safaris at two amazing National Parks, swam/rafted/floated in the Nile River... and most importantly: made lifelong connections and friends that span cultures, all through Lacrosse.
