Departing from Moshi, a 45-minute journey takes you through welcoming mountain villages to the gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park. We will patiently wait for permits to be issued while monitoring the bustle of operations as more crews prepare for the journey ahead. Enjoy beautiful rainforest vistas and windswept trails as your guide tells you about the local flora and fauna and natural wildlife. At these lower elevations, the trail can be muddy and quite slippery. We highly recommend walking and hiking poles here.

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, we exited the jungle and continued on a steep path, now leaving the forest behind, the trail climbing steadily with wide views to reach the high edge. original Shira. The temperature is starting to drop.

Even though you end the day at the same height as you started it, the day is important for acclimatization. From the Shira Plateau we continue east on a ridge, passing a fork to Mount Kibo before continuing, southeast to the lava tower, known as "Shark's Tooth" (elev. 4650m / 15,250ft). Right after the tower, we come to the second fork, which leads to Arrow Glacier. We then continued down to spend the night at Camp Barranco. 

5.2 KM / 3 MI 

4-5 Hours | Alpine Desert 

Altitude: 3986m / 13,077ft ~ 4034m / 13,253ft 

Altitude rise: 48m 

After breakfast, climb a steep ridge, enter the Karanga Valley from the adventurous Baranco Wall, and follow the fork leading to the Mweka Trail. This is the best day to see the power, agility and strength of the crew easily overcome the barriers. Overnight at Karanga Camp. 

3.3 KM / 2 MI | 

4-5 hours | Alpine Desert 

Altitude: 4034m / 13,253ft ~ 4662m / 15,295ft 

Altitude gain: 628m 

Proceed to Barafu Camp. Once there, the South Circuit is complete and you can enjoy breathtaking views of the summit from different angles. Early dinner and break while preparing for the summit night. Overnight at Balafu Camp. 

Down 11.5 KM / 8 MI | 

5-6 Hours | Glacier, Snow Peak 

Altitude: 4662m / 15,295ft ~ 5895m / 19,341ft 

Altitude gain: 1233m Descent to 3090m / 10,150ft 

Altitude loss: 2789m 

Excitement increases when the morning begins early from midnight to 2 am. This is the most mentally and physically challenging part of trekking. We continue to move towards the summit between the Rebmann Glacier and the Ratzel Glacier, stay warm and focus on the amazing sense of accomplishment of the future. Switch northwest through heavy rocks and climb towards Stella Point on the edge of the crater. Here you will be rewarded with the most brilliant sunrise during your short rest. Faster hikers can see the sunrise from the top. From here, you may encounter snow on the remaining hour of climbing to Uhuru Peak. Congratulations. We have reached the highest point of Kilimanjaro and the entire African Continent, Uhuru Peak, step by step. After a photo, a celebration, and perhaps some tears of joy, we will take some time to enjoy this incredible achievement. We start a plunge to Mweka Camp and stop at Barafu for lunch and a very short break. Gaiters and trekking poles are highly recommended for uncooperative terrain with loose gravel and ash. A rest is waiting for you to enjoy the last night in the mountains. Overnight at Mweka Camp.

After breakfast, a heartfelt gratitude ceremony and a team bond with the crew, it's time to say goodbye. Continue descent to Mweka Park Gate to receive the Summit Certificate. The terrain is moist, muddy and steep due to the very warm weather. Gaiters and trekking poles are highly recommended.

From the gate, a car will be waiting for you in Mweka village to take you back to your hotel in Moshi (about 30 minutes). Enjoy the long awaited hot shower, dinner and celebration!! Overnight at 4-star Kilimanjaro Wonders hotel in bed and breakfast. before being transferred to your return trip, safari or a relaxing trip to Zanzibar.
