About your trip

Learn More about this climb at https://www.kilimanjaro.org.au/lemosho-route-northern-circuit-2026

All climbs include a private Toilet Tent on the mountain, and 1 night's hotel accommodation (twin share) before and after the climb.

The Marangu Route is favored by many because it is thought to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope and direct path.

However the short time frame and the gradual and steady ascent do not include a 'walk high, sleep low' profile making altitude acclimatization more difficult.

The Marangu Route is also less scenic than any of the other routes because the ascent and descent are along the same path, also making it the most crowded route.

Because many climbers try to climb the Marangu Route in only 5 days and fail because of poor acclimatization, it has the lowest summit success rate. Therefore our Marangu itinerary includes a minimum of 6 or 7 days.

The total Marangu Route distance is approximately 70 kilometers from gate to gate.

While the route requires sustained hiking over long durations, it doesn’t involve any technical climbing. A good level of physical fitness is advisable.
