About this trip

Hike Mount Kilimanjaro, also known as "The Roof of Africa", with this awesome group, which will be lead by Sober Spartans. Mount Kilimanjaro is not just the highest peak in Africa, but also the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Made up of 5 different climate zones, Kilimanjaro is one of seven summits of the world!

This group will be trekking the Marangu Route, also known as the Coca-Cola Route. It is the shortest and easiest route to Mt. Kilimanjaro’s highest summit, Uhuru Peak. This is the only route that includes sleeping huts for camping instead of tent camping. It takes 6 days and 5 nights to complete the trek.

Please make travel plans adding a day before the trek begins (September 7 arrival) and a day after you leave the mountain(September 14 departure) . (Arrival day & Departure Day)

For early arrivals ( before September 7) we have a couple of cultural day tours available as add-on options, for September 6 and September 7.

There is also a trip extension to Zanzibar for after the climb:

Available Trip Extension: Dates September 14- September 16, 2026

Please note: We can also customize any other day tours, safari itineraries that we have available. You can take a look at those on our website or contact Erika, directly at: director@winricaadventures.com

Accommodations

You will have two nights, arrival night & the night you come down from the mountain at our host hotel in Moshi, the Chanya Lodge.  The price for these nights are already included in your balance due. To learn more about the Chanya Lodge, go to their website at: Chanya Lodge

For early arrivals, (arrivals before July 8, 2025) the cost of hotel bed and breakfast per night is $85/person/night for double occupancy and $95/person/night for single room occupancy. (All rooms are double occupancy unless a single room is requested in advance during planning)

While you are on the mountain, on this route, you will have the luxury of sleeping in the A-frame huts that are on the mountain at each camp. This route is perfect for those who do not prefer to sleep in a tent during their trek. Each hut can accommodate 4-6 people (depending on availability) and has twin sized bunk beds, that include a sleeping mattress and pillow.

The huts on the mountain do have electricity but only for lighting and it is very dim at times, as it is solar powered. There are NO outlets in the sleeping huts. We recommend bringing power banks that are charged prior to going to the mountain to charge your devices like cell phone, camera, smart watch, etc, while on the mountain.
