We were rerouted to Ecoadventures. Pulmo is reached by dirt roads so be aware. The camp is a collection of mostly ad hoc structures and seems to be totally off grid including cell grids mostly. If you have seen a depiction of 1950s fishing or surfing beaches, this is that place. Worth seeing in its own right.
But about the trip. Water was rough and windy and temp was barely 70 so it was cold in the boat even with a wetsuit. There were 4 sites to visit, each with merit. Highlight was seeing schools of fish rather than the usual solo fish on a reef. Visibility was fine but is supposed to be better in summer (versus our December trip). Colors would have been brighter too I assume.
Boat was fine and crew was great especially given rough sea. Only complaint, other than the weather, was the exit from the boat in heavy surf was difficult for all guests. So be wary.
Spectacular. Watching and learning the scientific mission and methods of researching the whale sharks was fascinating. The crew were friendly and down to earth. Highly recommend this trip if you get a chance.
We took both a snorkeling trip and a scuba diving trip with Cabo Pulmo Watersports that we booked on TripOutside and they were both incredible! TripOutside made it so easy to compare shops and find the best guides for us in Cabo Pulmo as well as book it online easily. The communication after booking was fantastic, and everything was ready for us when we showed up for the adventure. They tailored our trips to what we wanted to see, and boy, did we see a lot! Sea lions, sea turtles, so many huge fish, and schools of jacks at the snorkeling sites we visited, and spectacular reefs teeming with fish plus bull sharks at the diving sites! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back - thank you TripOutside and Cabo Pulmo Watersports!
