We wake up to coffee and muffins served at Bushveld Terrace. Just before 06:00 am (05:00 in Summer) we cycle the very short distance from Bushveld Terrace through the Phalaborwa Gate into the Kruger National Park.

We meet our two armed guides here and after a safety and information briefing, we head out into the wilderness of the world-renowned Kruger National Park in front of the surprised faces of the other guests. This is the start of a distinctive adventure! 

For the first time, you will be cycling in a Big 5 wilderness area. We will stop to view birds, animal tracks and interesting geological formations and plant life. And of course, the multitude of wildlife that abounds in this pristine natural area.

We will have plenty of time to soak in this wonderful atmosphere on regular breaks along the way. Our 40 - 45 km ride this morning takes us in a northerly direction along the Malopeni River to a junction with the Letaba River. The last section of the ride is along the Letaba River where there is always an abundance of wildlife and birds to keep us busy. Before we get to the Letaba River, we snack on the well-deserved packed breakfast that the wonderful staff at Bushveld Terrace prepared.

Upon reaching the camp (wild campsite on the Letaba River), our tents are already erected and we relax under the trees while lunch is prepared. Luggage will be transported to our exclusive mobile, tented camp by the backup vehicle.

After lunch, we relax on the sandbank next to the Letaba River, or even inside the river, to cool down. Later in the afternoon enjoy a sundowner on the riverbank while dinner is being prepared on the fire.

Make yourself comfortable around the fire, enjoy the view or take a warm shower. Dinner will be served after sunset. We have a kitchen gazebo if you want to make use of the shelter while eating. After dinner savour a cup of coffee under the stars and then a relaxed sleep with the sounds of the African bush.

We have a ‘bush bar’ available as well. Please remember to let us know what drinks you would like to order at least 5 days in advance. We will supply you with an order list on request. The drinks from the bush bar will be for your own account.

We wake up early to the sound of francolins and other birds in the big trees next to the Letaba River. The smell of the morning fire and a kettle purring on the coals invites the excitement of the day. We have a full breakfast before we set off on the bicycles.

The back up team will meet us after two hours with refreshing cool drinks and water along the dry Malompeni River. Our route this morning follows a different course from the previous day.

We arrive back at the Phalaborwa Gate (around 11:00 am) and congratulate ourselves on an epic adventure.
