Flying with Nepal Helicopter Service so close to Mount Everest was without further explanation the experience of our lifetime. The „dream comes true“-process was perfectly organized. From the very beginning we felt welcomed. A representative of Nepal Helicopter Service greeted us at the airport and escorted us to our helicopter, where 8 people were in charge to prepare everything for our flight. Captain Bubek welcomed us, he is calmness personified, and informed us about the flight route. His last sentence before take-off: „You are absolutely safe!“ We flew over villages and hills with agricultural terraces and landed in Lukla after 45 minutes for refuelling. From Lukla the helicopter ascended continuously to higher altitudes. The weather was perfect, no gusty winds. We enjoyed the majestic of the Himalaya mountains and landed in Pheriche, were we disembarked for 15 minutes in an absolutely quiet place. We felt connected with the univers, were overwhelmed by the sorrounding beauty. After flying over the Himalaya Base Camp and an impressive glacier tongue our excellent pilot brought us to Mount Everest Hotel (3800 Meter), where we enjoyed breakfast. From the terrace we had a magnificent view of Mount Everest. Captain Bubek took beautiful pictures from us. The flight back to Kathmandu was wonderful again. We will never forget this adventure, thanks to the professionalism of Nepal Helicopter Service.

We were stuck in Lukla for days due to plane delays and cancellations. We booked the helicopter ride back to Kathmandu so we wouldn't miss our international flight home. The helicopter arrival time may vary due to the potential weather change and other emergency rescue. But overall, the experience was smooth and we arrived in Kathmandu timely and safely.

This experience was outstanding. From the moment of meeting of our pilot Kashan Gurung. He gave his all to see we enjoyed this experience, What a PRO. He went out of his way to inform us of what we were seeing or what to expect next and his instructions of landing at Pheriche and the change out of pax was all so smooth. The fly by of Everest Base Camp and the up close viewing of the Khumbu Icefall was a forever memorable thrilling moment. It's like time stood still. We landed at Pheriche to change out passengers and on to EVH for breakfast. I needed oxygen on the walk to the hotel, and Captain Gurung ran back to the helicopter to retrieve. But also, the people I was flying with were so attentive and caring to me in my moment of breathlessness. This was a forever memory and well worth what I paid for it. A note here of BEWARE of the company you choose to make this trip. Not all companies are alike, and you need to do your homework, communicate and ask questions more than once. This company fulfilled all its details. Lukla landing for refuel, Pheriche for change out of pax, A FANTASTIC fly by of the base camp and Ice Fall, Wonderful communication by our pilot and stop at EVH, and Lukla. Thank you Namaste! Awesome trip, loved it. BUT be aware. Be prepared to pay extra at the airport for your trip, but WE travel refunded the extra same day, really good service from WE Travel. The hotel breakfast is $US31 but you pay in Rupees. There is an extra 6,000 Rupies cash you need to pay at the airport for permits, etc. I was not the only one and WE Travel was not the only company that had the extra charges, just the helicopter operator wanting more. However the trip is unforgettable and really glad that I did it.

Fantastic Trip. Felt well organized and safe from pick up to bring back. helicopter was brand new and modern, pilot was super experienced and gave a safe impression and guided us through the entire flight and during the simple but superb brunch break. I had clear communication of where we stopped and not. Expensive but once in a life time experience.
