🌺La Isla Del Encanto (Puerto Rico): A Women’s Discovery Expedition (March 5-11, 2026)
Step into the heart of the Caribbean for a journey that blends ancient heritage, natural beauty, and soulful sisterhood. From the blue cobblestones of Old San Juan to the lush peaks of El Yunque and the glowing waters of a bioluminescent bay, this 7-day women’s adventure celebrates Puerto Rico’s living story — its Taíno roots, rainforest rhythms, and coastal light.
We’ll explore sacred caves carved with Taíno petroglyphs, walk the ceremonial grounds of Caguana, taste island-grown chocolate straight from the source, and kayak beneath a canopy of stars as the lagoon shimmers around us. Between adventures, you’ll rest in elegant oceanfront resorts, savor local flavors from Old San Juan to Fajardo, and share evenings of laughter, conversation, and connection.
A full-day island trip to Culebra brings turquoise waters, coral reefs, sea turtles, and the white sands of Flamenco Beach. Each day invites renewal and reflection — crafted with care, grounded in sisterhood, and supported by local expertise.

About Your Host & Local Guides:
Christine Baldwin serves as your trip host and retreat facilitator, shaping the overall flow of the journey, tending to the group, and holding space for reflection and connection. Licensed local guides and operators join us for specialized experiences — such as our Culebra island day and bioluminescent bay excursion — while other locations are explored at your own pace using maps, site materials, and suggested resources. This approach keeps Expedition Sisterhood rooted in local knowledge while allowing Christine to focus on creating a meaningful, women-centered experience. Christine also provides optional reading and resource suggestions for guests who want to go deeper into Puerto Rico’s history and culture at their own pace between travel days. When the group is at or near capacity, Christine may also be supported by her husband and co-owner of Expedition Sisterhood, Ron Baldwin — her partner for over 30 years — in a behind-the-scenes role focused on transportation and logistics only.

Arrive in San Juan and feel the warmth of the Caribbean greet you as our group shuttles bring everyone together by mid-afternoon.
Settle into Hotel Rumbao, your elegant Old San Juan home base just steps from the waterfront promenade. As you unpack and exhale from travel, you’ll have time to freshen up, meet your travel sisters, and, if you’d like, join an optional sunset stroll along Paseo del Morro or the city walls — soaking in golden light, sea air, and pastel streets coming alive for the evening.
Tonight’s welcome dinner is at Deaverdura, a casual Puerto Rican restaurant known for its welcoming atmosphere and shared plates featuring traditional island flavors. It’s an easy, unhurried first-night meal — laughter, introductions, and sweet beginnings under the island’s golden light before we rest up for tomorrow’s adventures.
After breakfast, we head west with our private driver to trace the footsteps of Puerto Rico’s first people — the Taíno — from mountain valleys to the sea. Our day begins in the green hills of the island’s interior at Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park, an archaeological plaza and museum preserving one of the most important Taíno ceremonial sites in the Caribbean. Standing among the stone bateyes and interpretive exhibits, you’ll feel the hum of something timeless — ceremony, story, and resilience held in the land itself.
As we make our way back toward the coast, we’ll pause for a simple kiosk lunch of local favorites — casual, roadside plates full of Puerto Rican flavor. Then we continue north to Cueva del Indio near Arecibo, where wind-carved limestone cliffs, Atlantic swells, and ancient petroglyphs etched into the rock speak of a sacred dialogue between earth, water, and sky. Those who wish can walk closer to the ocean and natural stone arch; others may simply take in the views from above.
By late afternoon we return to Old San Juan for a relaxed neighborhood dinner at a nearby bistro — lighter, nourishing plates after a full day of history and mountain roads. The evening stays intentionally low-key, with the option of a brief sunset walk toward Castillo San Cristóbal or quiet time to rest, journal, or enjoy the hotel pool before tomorrow’s journey continues.
Begin the morning slowly — breakfast at leisure and time for one last look over Old San Juan before we turn our eyes east. Our journey carries us to the emerald foothills of El Yunque National Forest, where mist drifts through towering palms and coquí frogs call from the canopy.
At a mindful pace, we pause at La Coca Falls and Yokahú Tower, and take a short, gentle walk near Juan Diego Falls, as trail and weather conditions allow. Recent storms have reshaped parts of the forest, so our exact stops may shift — but the rhythm stays the same: cool mountain air, rainforest light, and time to breathe it all in.
We continue on to El Portal Visitor Center for lunch at the café, exhibits, and shaded walkways that share the story of this unique rainforest ecosystem.
By afternoon, we emerge from the mountains and follow the coastline to El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, a clifftop haven overlooking turquoise water. There’s time to settle into your room, swim, or simply exhale with the ocean spread out below. As evening comes, we gather for dinner at one of the resort’s restaurants — fresh island flavors, easy conversation, and a soft landing into this new corner of the island.
After an early breakfast at the resort, we set out for a full island-day adventure. We’ll travel to the Ceiba ferry terminal and cross over to Culebra, one of Puerto Rico’s most beloved offshore islands, where turquoise water and slow island rhythms greet us the moment we arrive.
On Culebra, we’ll meet our local hosts and make our way to a calm snorkeling beach known for sea turtles and clear, gentle water. Guests who wish can join a guided swim to look for turtles grazing in the seagrass, while others simply relax on the sand or float in the shallows. From there, we continue to Flamenco Beach, often named among the most beautiful beaches in the world — a wide crescent of white sand and aquamarine sea, perfect for swimming, shoreline walks, or resting in the shade.
Lunch is on your own today at simple, locally owned kiosks on Culebra, with time to choose what looks good and pay the vendors directly. In the late afternoon, we’ll ferry back to the main island and return to El Conquistador Resort, where an easy ordered-in dinner, cool drinks, and sisterhood conversation under the palms bring this sun-soaked, sea-sparkled day to a gentle close.
Day 5 moves a little slower, giving your body and brain a breather after island-hopping. We’ll enjoy a relaxed morning at the resort before heading into the hills above Fajardo for a tour at Hacienda Chocolat, a working cacao farm where you’ll walk among the trees, learn how cacao becomes Caribbean chocolate, and savor tastings along the way.
We return to El Conquistador around midday for a simple, come-and-go lunch spread and an open afternoon — time to rest, journal, enjoy the pool, or just sit with the ocean breeze and let the week sink in.
As evening approaches, we’ll share an early dinner at the resort, then make our way to Laguna Grande for a guided bioluminescent bay experience. Paddling through mangrove channels under the stars, you’ll watch the water glow softly with each stroke of your paddle — a quiet, otherworldly end to a day that’s all about savoring, from cacao to starlight.
Begin the day slowly with breakfast at El Conquistador and time to pack, take a last dip in the pool, or simply sit with the view. For early risers, there’s an optional outing to the Angelito Trail in El Yunque — a short rainforest walk ending at a calm river pool where you can enjoy one final swim in the island’s wild heart before we head west.
Late morning, we check out and drive toward San Juan, stopping in Piñones for an easy, choose-your-own lunch at the oceanfront kiosks — alcapurrias, pinchos, empanadillas, fresh juices, and the sound of island music. From there we continue to our final stay at the Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort; we’ll check in and drop bags (or leave them with concierge if rooms aren’t ready) before heading back into Old San Juan for one last blue-cobblestone wander. You might visit Castillo San Cristóbal or simply linger in plazas, cafés, and artisan shops at your own pace.
As golden light settles over the bay, we gather for a farewell dinner at La Casita de Rones, a colorful waterfront restaurant serving classic Puerto Rican flavors and warm, easy hospitality. The night closes with a gentle group walk along Isla Verde Beach for those who wish — waves at our feet, stars overhead, and space for final reflections before our last sleep by the sea.
Day 7 is all about gentle goodbyes and an easy journey home. We’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel with ocean views and one last slow Puerto Rican morning — time for coffee, connection, and final hugs with your travel sisters.
Our group time together concludes around late morning, with hotel check-out by 11:00 a.m. Shuttles will be coordinated based on departure times so everyone reaches San Juan International Airport (SJU) comfortably and without rush. Lunch is not included today; guests with later flights may choose to enjoy a light meal or snack at the hotel or airport.
You’ll depart carrying more than souvenirs — leaving with new friendships, fresh perspective, and the warmth of Puerto Rico lingering in your bones long after you land back home.
