Horseback riding at La Quebrada is an activity that the whole
family can enjoy. Once we arrive at the ranch and the guides are
introduced, we will give a short talk on safety and go over the
day’s itinerary. Afterwards, the ride begins heading into a unique
fertile valley, before climbing up into the Andes mountain range.
On the way, we ride through streams, and observe the local flora
and fauna that remain unaffected, such as condors, guanacos,
foxes and hares. When we reach 3000 m.a.s.l we are rewarded by
majestic, panoramic views of the distant foothills,the Potrerillos
Dam, Uco Valley and La Carrera Valley.
We return to the ranch by a different route in time to enjoy a
delicious lunch. It consists of a starter of pastry wrapped
‘provolone’ cheese, ‘bife de chorizo’ steak and chargrilled
vegetables for the main course, and our signature dish, flan
with ‘dulce de leche’ (caramel sauce) for dessert. And of
course, to drink, delicious wine from Mendoza! After lunch,
there will be time to relax and enjoy the fantastic view and
peaceful atmosphere that nature at La Quebrada offers.

Trekking at La Quebrada can be adapted to suit the group’s fitness
level. Once we arrive at the ranch and the guides are introduced,

Fabulous ride and great guides.  Our guide Eros was a great guide; he was friendly, knowledgeable, gave us tips, and ensured everyone had a safe and enjoyable ride.  The scenery was brilliant, and the horses were well trained (with a little spirit!).  Kudos to our cook, because the lunch was outstanding.  I highly recommend this experience.

Our guide and driver were professional, friendly, informative, and made us feel at home.  We had a great time.

Two words: BOOK IT! My husband and I traveled to Mendoza for our honeymoon and had heard you simply could not visit Mendoza/the Andes without doing a horseback riding trip. My key takeaways:

1. Book the transfer! The ranch was located quite a ways from the Mendoza/Maipu city center and might be slightly challenging for people not used to driving in mountains or on dirt roads. Caro and Eros picked us up on time, got us excited for the day, and shared fun facts about the area and Argentinian life and culture. It was great to not have to sort out transportation to and from the ranch and to have this taken care of by the team.

2. Eros and Pablo took us out on an unforgettable trip through the mountains. Pablo was constantly checking our saddles and checking in on the horses-- we felt incredibly safe and taken care of the whole trip. Eros is an expert on hikes, wildlife, and local fauna and always had a fact to share or pointed out a specific animal to see. These gentlemen are both professionals and true gauchos.

3. The lunch after the ride was absolutely delicious. A true Argentinian meal cooked with love to perfection, and exactly what we needed after a long journey. The ride was undoubtedly the best part of the experience, but the meal is a very close second!

Overall, this experience was worth every penny. Whether you're with friends, a partner, or a large family, everyone is sure to enjoy themselves on this trip. It was an unforgettable experience made possible by a truly friendly, competent, and special team, and to anyone considering, we wholeheartedly recommend this experience with La Quebrada del Cóndor.

HORSEBACK RIDING, GAUCHOS´S LUNCH, AND TRANSFERS FROM-TO MENDOZA

One of the highlights for our trip to Mendoza, as Agustin, Hugo and the team were fantastic hosts and showed us true Argentinian hospitality and friendship.  

We had a mixed group of riders - ranging from practically the first time on a horse, through to experienced riders, and we all loved the experience.  The scenary was stunning, as we looked up on to the Andes, in search of the Condors (which we saw), and them some beautiful views back over the land Potrerillos and the winelands of Mendoza.  It was great in the saddle but would also be lovely to hike around there.  The horses were comfortable with our mixed skills and the finale was a fantastic bbq back at the stables.  

It is possible to drive there in an ordinary car, but a truck or 4x4 is optimal for the unpaved roads to the farm.
