Located on Santa Cruz Island, the Fausto Llerena Tortoise Breeding Center allows visitors to observe different species of Galápagos giant tortoises from various islands. The tortoises are raised in the center until they are 2 to 3 years old, when they are strong enough to be released back into their natural habitat.
The center is an important wildlife rescue and conservation facility and one of the most significant tourist attractions on Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos Archipelago.
