This trip begins in New York City where the Colonial Crafts will be coupled to the rear of Amtrak's Silver Meteor. You will watch the urban skyline fade into the breezy Carolina coastline, pass sleepy Southern towns draped in Spanish moss, and glimpse the marshlands and tidal rivers of Georgia before crossing into the Sunshine State itself. Rolling through Florida, you will see palm-lined boulevards, and broad rivers winding through the lowlands. Keep your eyes open for glimpses of historic coastal towns and sugarcane fields stretching to the horizon.

While on the Pullman car, enjoy hors d'oeuvres, snacks, and beverages all in historic luxury with personal care by our on-board servers.  Make your 2027 a year to remember with this once in a lifetime trip. You are able to tailor your trip however you like.  Ride Amtrak one way and take the Pullman car the other; fly to New York City, Savannah, Richmond, or Miami and meet us there to enjoy the journey through the Eastern Shore.

After enjoying your time away in the South, you can return on the Colonial Crafts.  Our two-day trip leaves Miami on Sunday and arrives in New York City on Monday.  With your ticket, you have access to the Amtrak VIP lounges in both Miami and New York prior to your journey and after you arrive. 

Traveling aboard Colonial Crafts to sunny Florida, guests will enjoy a vibrant menu inspired by the region’s diverse and flavorful culinary traditions. Start your morning with sweet and tangy key lime pancakes or a crisp Cuban-style tostada paired with freshly brewed Cuban coffee. Snacks and lighter meals include bright citrus salads.

Main courses may feature fresh mahi-mahi with mango salsa, blackened grouper with rice and beans, and the classic Cuban ropa vieja con plantanos maduro; slow-cooked shredded beef with black beans and ripe plantains. For dessert, indulge in the iconic key lime pie, creamy coconut flan, or comforting peach cobbler. Refresh with fresh orange juice as you savor these dishes, all crafted to be both delicious and convenient for elegant rail dining.

Passengers who purchase tickets that involve an overnight segment will be assigned one of our four private bedrooms. Whether you are traveling alone or with a friend, you must purchase two tickets to reserve a private room. Each bedroom has an upper and lower berth and an attached private bathroom with a toilet and sink. Our on-board staff make up each private room for daytime travel with comfortable chairs and a table. In the evening while you are at dinner, the chairs are folded away and the bunks are made up and turned down for your comfort. There is an all-stainless steel shower room at the end of the hallway available for use at any time.
