There’s something about Christmas in Europe that feels almost impossible to replicate—glowing market stalls, cold air warmed by mulled wine, streets lit by thousands of tiny lights.
This December, we’ll begin in Strasbourg and nearby storybook towns, exploring some of the most magical Christmas markets in the world and embracing all the festive charm that comes with them.
Then we’ll spend our final three nights in the Alps, tucked into a chic chalet where each day is yours to design: ski, sleigh, shop, spa, or simply enjoy the magic of doing very little in a beautiful place.
And while the destinations are extraordinary, the real magic of Open Invite Trips has always been the people—nice and normal ladies seeing exceptional places together.
6 nights in cute hotels
One of our favorite parts of vacation!
Each day we will get either your lunch or dinner. Don’t worry, it will be good. We love delicious food.
If it is on the schedule, it is coordinated paid for and taken care of by Open Invite!
We’ll leave for the airport in Geneva at 7am on the 12th, with hopes to arrive by 9am to the airport. Please allow for a one-hour cushion of time for traffic, as you book your flights.
Typically, this will be lunch while we are out and about exploring smaller towns
It is your job to get to the meeting point and get yourself home from the finishing point. We are here to help with advice but this will be up to you to coordinate and purchase.
We will have an optional day for skiing. This 225EUR supplemental fee will include your daily lift ticket and skis & boots
We will have free time in our schedule, and we love for you to explore! Any entrances, activities or optional plans you make by yourself or with other members of the group are yours to purchase.
Whether you are arriving by plane or train, please plan to be in Strasbourg by 2pm for our official start!
We’ll start with a light exploration of the city together- we’ll hit the city centre by foot to see some of the best spots, get orientated with the historical area and start getting to know eachother.
We’ll end the day in a cute and cosy spot for dinner before we collapse into bed after a big first day of travel. Our hotel is located in the historic centre, so the walk back will be easy and scenic.
You’ll fall into bed warm, rested, well-fed and officially a member of the gang of our Ladies Christmas 2026 Trip!
After a relaxed breakfast at our hotel this morning, we’ll hop aboard a short train ride into one of France’s most enchanting towns. Colmar is everything you hope an Alsatian village will be: timber-framed houses, winding cobblestone streets, and Christmas markets tucked into nearly every square!
We’ll gather for lunch together before spending the afternoon exactly as you please. Browse the charming boutiques, sip mulled wine, hunt for a beautiful ornament to take home, linger over coffee and pastries in a cafe, or simply wander until something catches your eye. There is no agenda to rush here- just one impossibly pretty street leading into the next!
Once evening falls and the city starts sparking with Christmas lights, grab a few new friends for dinner on your own. We’ll return by train later that evening- arms full of shopping bags and a new stash of memories to take home with us!
Today, most of the day belongs entirely to you. (But we’ll steal you away for meal!(
Sleep in, enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and spend the morning however you please.
If you’re up for a morning walk, grab a coffee and take a walk to the cathedral for walk through the medieval place of worship. Browse the Christmas markets for those final gifts or head out for a morning enjoying being somewhere so wonderful with nowhere particular to be.
Later today, we are hoping to find ourselves in a baking class. (These plans are currently tentative, so details to come. If this doesn’t work into our schedule well, we will replace it with another great option that matches the Open Invite vibe well!) The dream is an afternoon spent together over some traditional recipes while we enjoy being together!
For dinner, we’ll spend our final evening together in Strasbourg together. (Plan to wear something festive and with a bit of sparkle!) We’ll also bring back our ornament exchange for tonight. No need to bring anything- we’ll tell you all you need to know on the trip. It’s just a little Open Invite tradition that we like to do when we hit the Christmas Markets together!
This morning, we’ll load our bags on a private coach and head south to the mountains- but let’s do a pit-stop for some Swiss fondue along the way!
There’s no better place for a ladies lunch of Swiss cheese than the charming town of Gruyère in Switzerland. While we are here, we’ll visit to a local cheese maker and enjoy lunch together.
Later on, we’ll head to the French alpine town of Megeve. Once we arrive to the charming mountain town, we’ll have time to get settled in out hotel rooms and enjoy dinner on our own in town this evening. Our hotel is very central to all the action so enjoy an easy evening wandering around and getting to know the setting of our Alpine escape a bit better.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel today and pick how you want to spend the day: either hit the slopes for a day of skiing or snowboarding, post up for a morning of mahjong, hit the spa or shops.
If you’re interested in being on the mountain, we’ll help coordinate your rentals this morning so you’re ready to go. We’ll also have your lift tickets arranged. Looking to learn? The mountain has ski instructors and we can help you arrange instruction. (Just let us know and we can get you the details and pricing!)
This evening, we’ll have an apres-ski hang out with drinks before we head out to dinner together. We’ll be bundled up and heading out for a girls night in the French Alps together- hard to imagine sending a night out in December in a scenario that is chicer than that!
Spend the morning as you like- adventuring on the moutain, taking the Mont d’Arbois Gondola up the mountain for lunch with incredible views of Mont Blanc, or wandering the shops of one of the prettiest ski villages in France. Megeve is a great place to ski, but one of the reasons we are headed here is that it offers something for everyone!
While we are in the Savoyarde region, make sure you’re enjoying some of the local specialties like raclette, tartiflette (potatoes, reblochon cheese and bacon) or Fondue Savoyarde!
Later this afternoon, we’ll gather together for one final unforgettable final evening- a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snowy forests followed by a farewell dinner together in a cozy mountain spot. Pack your furriest and cosiest outfit for tonight, we’ll be going out in style together after a wonderful week together!
This morning, we’ll head out early for the Geneva airport via private transfer. We’ll wind our way out of the alps at 7am for an estimated arrival by 9am.
Our final stop will be at the Geneva airport. Please don’t plan for travel before 11:30am, as we want to make sure you have enough of a realistic time frame for check-in for all your onward travel.
