Terms & Conditions/Cancellation Policy

1.1. The Terms and Conditions in this document, hereafter referred to as "Agreement"; (which includes this 4-page document and incorporates any terms and or provisions as stated on individual trip sign-up pages) is between "Cryout Cave"; hereafter referred to as; Cryout Cave; and the named traveller in Agreement, hereafter referred to as "Traveller". 

1.2 Lagos Alive is the Destination-based operating group on behalf of Cryout Cave. Lagos Alive will be in charge of planning and execution of all the programs and activities in Nigeria on behalf of the Cryout Cave. 

1.3. Signature of Agreement by Cryout Cave and Traveller shall not constitute the creation, conveyance, transference, conference, or otherwise granting of any rights, authority, ownership, or license in the Cryout Cave to Traveller by Cryout Cave. 

2.  24-hour cancellation. 

The trip deposit will be refunded upon request 24 hours after the trip has been booked. After 24 hours of booking, no refunds of deposits will be given. 

Non-refundable deposit and payments. 

After 24 hours of booking, no refunds of deposits or payments will be given. 

Deposit Transfer to Another trip 

- The trip deposit and payments can be applied as credit to LagosAlive two future trips.

Deposit or Payment Transfer to Another Person. 

- Trip deposits and trip payments cannot be transferred to another person. 

TRAVEL INSURANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BUT OPTIONAL FOR ALL GUESTS.  

3. Traveller agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Cryout Cave, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, vendors, travel guides, assignees, transferees, agents, and any other third parties acting on Cryout Cave's behalf against any and all expenses, losses, damages, accidents, injuries, claims, or deaths resulting in whole or in part, either directly or indirectly, from any aspect of travel and/or activities facilitated by Cryout Cave. Traveller further agrees that in no event and under no circumstances shall Cryout Cave, nor its officers, directors, employees, vendors, guides, contractors, assignees, transferees, agents, and other third parties acting on Cryout Cave's behalf bear any total or aggregate liability (either jointly or severally) under Agreement that exceeds the amount of total fees paid by Traveller to Company for the particular trip in question. 

4. Traveller agrees to abide by all applicable domestic and international laws and regulations in the countries of travel and residency, regardless of length of time in said countries. If questioning, apprehension/arrest, detainment, punishment, or incarceration by lawful authorities occurs, Cryout Cave shall not be responsible or liable, either legally, financially or otherwise, for Traveller's actions or release. 

5. Cryout Cave advises Traveller to purchase the necessary and required travel insurance. Traveller understands that all required credentials, visas, permits, insurance, and other travel, medical, and identifying documentation are the sole responsibility and at the sole expense of Traveller. It is the Traveller’s sole responsibility and sole cost to determine whether the Traveller needs a visa or any other for this trip, the applicable type of visa, and to ensure that the visa is applied for, obtained, and received timely for travel on this trip. 

6. Traveller understands it is their responsibility to arrive in time for travel departure or event or activity start. Cryout Cave assumes no responsibility, liability, or expense for Traveller's inability to travel or participate in any activity or event hosted by Cryout Cave due to insufficient, inaccurate, or expired travel, medical, and identifying documentation by Traveller, or failure to arrive on time for travel departures or participation in events or activities for any reason, including those reasons that are out of the control of Traveller. 

7. Traveller grants Cryout Cave the right to take photographs, record videos, and/or use social media posts of Traveller in conjunction with travel and/or activities hosted by Cryout Cave, before, during, and after such travel and activities. Traveller authorizes Cryout Cave, its employees, contractors, assignees, transferees, agents, and any other third parties working on Cryout Cave's behalf, to copyright, use, and publish the photographs, videos, and social media posts in print and/or electronically. Cryout Cave may use videos, photographs, or social media posts of Traveller with or without Traveller's name and for any lawful purposes, including for example, such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, promotion, fund-raising, and social media/internet content. Cryout Cave is released from any reasonable expectation of privacy or confidentiality associated with such content. Traveller acknowledges she does not expect and will not receive financial compensation of any kind associated with the taking, publication, or other use of such photographs, videos, and social media posts. Traveller further releases Cryout Cave, its employees, contractors, assignees, transferees, and any third parties acting on Cryout Cave's behalf from any liability or claims by Traveller or any representative of Traveller, including those relating to right of publicity or usage of Traveller’s name, likeness, image, voice, or any other identifying trait. 

8. Traveller understands that Cryout Cave offers travel services, events, and activities to customers, which are provided by separate and independent vendors. Cryout Cave does not operate, control, or otherwise provide the services of these vendors. Hence, the customer understands and agrees that Cryout Cave is not responsible for any operating failure, delay, loss, damage, or injury to Traveller or any resulting claims or damages arising as a result. Further, Cryout Cave does not and cannot guarantee a certain outcome or a particular result in conjunction with any travel, activities, or events arranged by Cryout Cave. While Cryout Cave will use its best professional efforts to achieve a successful outcome, Cryout Cave makes no promise, warranty, or guarantee, either express or implied, as to a specific outcome or result, or the expectation, perspective, or experience of Traveller. 

9. Traveller agrees that their safety is primarily their own responsibility. Traveller agrees to make sure that they know how to safely participate in activities, and agrees to observe any rules and practices that may be employed to minimize the risk of injury. Traveller agrees to stop and seek assistance if they do not believe they can safely continue, to limit their participation to reflect their personal fitness level, and to refrain from any and all actions that would pose a hazard to Traveller or others. Traveller understands that as with any physical activities, they should check with their doctor prior to embarking upon such activities to verify if they are medically able to participate in any activities. By signing this form, Traveller acknowledges that they have checked with their doctor and been cleared for any activities that they shall participate in, and that Cryout Cave bears no liability for any activity or outcome that may adversely affect the health or wellbeing of Traveller. 

10. Traveller agrees to participate in the trip and related activities that are held and sponsored by Cryout Cave and to release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue, and agree to hold Cryout Cave , its trustees, officers, directors, servants, agents, volunteers, contractors, and employees or “Releases” from and against any and all liabilities, demands, suits, costs, claims, or injuries, including death, that Traveller may sustain during or in conjunction with the trip or related activities. This total waiver of liability is intended to be a full and complete waiver and release of Cryout Cave from any liability for any damages or injuries that may occur as a result of the trip or related activities, and that Traveller is giving up any rights to legal recourse that they may have or obtain against Cryout Cave or its related parties. 

11. Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. There are no other promises, obligations, or terms and conditions, either oral or written, either express or implicated. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of New Jersey in the United States. The contract takes place in Newark, New Jersey. Any attorney fees for any breach shall be borne by the losing party if litigation ensues. By signature below, both parties acknowledge they have read and understand Agreement, and voluntarily and fully agree to all terms and conditions set forth within. This Agreement shall bind the heirs, assigns, successors, etc., of Traveller.   

12. Agreement shall be in effect from the signed date of Agreement (either electronically or physically) and into perpetuity, and shall cover all future travel, activities, or events Traveller may participate in which are affiliated in any way with Cryout Cave.

Welcome to Lagos!

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be warmly received with live traditional drummers and cultural singers, dressed in vibrant native attire, setting the tone for the rich culture and energy of the city.

After the welcome, you’ll be transferred in a fully air-conditioned bus to your apartment, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride through Lagos.

Once you arrive and check in, the rest of the day is reserved for rest and relaxation. You’ll also be treated to a welcome lunch or dinner, thoughtfully selected to give you your first taste of authentic local flavors.

Take time to unwind, refresh, and recover from your journey in preparation for the days ahead.

By evening, you’ll be fully settled, refreshed, recharged, and ready to begin an unforgettable week exploring the sights, sounds, culture, and lifestyle that make Lagos truly alive.

Day two is dedicated to giving back through a creative community workshop. Travelers will connect with children and youth, impacting them through poetry, art, storytelling, and creative expression, fostering confidence, inspiration, and self-expression.

After the workshop, we’ll head out for a cultural experience, visiting either the Upside Down House or Freedom Park, where guests can explore, take photos, and enjoy Lagos’ artistic and historical atmosphere.

The rest of the day is relaxed, allowing time to unwind and reflect on the experience.

Begin your day with a train station drop-off for a scenic rail journey from Lagos to Abeokuta.

Upon arrival, visit Olumo Rock, one of Nigeria’s most iconic historical landmarks. Explore the rock, learn about its cultural significance, and enjoy panoramic views of the city.

Next, you’ll visit the Ake Palace, offering insight into traditional royalty and the heritage of the Egba people. The experience continues with a stop at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, where history and leadership come to life.

After the day’s activities, return to the train station for the journey back to Lagos.

Once back in Lagos, the evening is reserved for rest and dinner, giving you time to relax and recharge.

Day four is a deep dive into Nigeria’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. Travelers will visit the National Theatre, one of Nigeria’s most iconic cultural landmarks, offering insight into the nation’s performing arts, history, and creative legacy.

The journey continues to the renowned Nike Art Gallery, where travelers will explore an impressive collection of traditional and contemporary Nigerian artworks. This immersive experience highlights storytelling through art, craftsmanship, and cultural expression.

The day is designed to be inspiring yet relaxed, allowing travelers to appreciate Nigeria’s creativity while enjoying meaningful cultural immersion.

Day five is a powerful and reflective journey into history and expression. Travelers will visit Badagry, home to the historic slave port and monuments that tell the story of the transatlantic slave trade, offering deep cultural, historical, and educational insight.

Following the heritage tour, travelers will attend a poetry festival or live poetry experience, where storytelling, spoken word, and performance bring emotion, reflection, and healing through art.

This day is intentionally designed to balance remembrance with creative expression, creating space for learning, reflection, and connection.

Day six is all about relaxation, fun, and celebration by the water. Travelers will head to Takwa Bay, a serene and picturesque beach accessible only by boat, offering sun, sand, and stunning Lagos views.

Travelers can choose to unwind on the beach, swim in the clear waters, or join a lively boat party, complete with music, refreshments, and unforgettable vibes. It’s the perfect way to recharge, connect, and enjoy Lagos from a unique perspective.

If the Upside Down House wasn’t visited on Day 2, travelers will have a chance to explore it today, enjoying the quirky, whimsical atmosphere and taking fun photos to end the trip on a lighthearted note.
